I'll give you a ring tonight Paul. Couple things:
1). I will talk it over with Kate, but we could probably let you borrow a cruiser. (yes, We own a running cruiser now--a 60)
2). The 1HZ will not work with your H42. The input shaft on the H41/2 doesn't mate with the 1HZ. You could get an H41/2 for a B series diesel and machine the input shaft to work, but I only understand it might work, maybe. 1HZ pretty much means H55f (unless you can make the R151f or H151 work--don't think you can in a 40)
The only reason I thought it might work is because I read about the build in South America about using a H41 with a H55 bell housing.
https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-series-tech/215784-so-begins-my-bj40-frame-off-restoration-18.html Post #345 And I remember our talk about needing a H55 with splitcase, and I would much rather have a 5 over a 4, but if it gets me running.
I see the 1HZs you are looking at. That would be a steal if you could trade a bumper for them... Michael at West Coast Cruisers will be all over those, BTW. He may have them spoken for already. Act fast.
I should be able to snag one still the issue is getting one with the injector pump, because the two with pumps seem to be much more complete. Also are injector pumps easy to come by otherwise I will just trade for a bumper. I also found out none of the engines have the bell housing. And I know you had to get yours pulled from a hard in OZ.
