yep also the eastern trail net work side near sugar creek gap hasn't had any grading stakes on the trails like the ones on the caney and moses creek did so if worst comes to worse that side should remain unchanged for the time being

last time up we saw that the gravel is indeed ALL the way up the moses creek trail to the bald, but we should be able to sneek down the trail to the church , the way we exited last time i hope. wonder if these changes had to do w/ the likes of the tard that totalled his ford at the creek crossing??? anyone get a pic of that btw? body mounts ripped off, broken tranny mounts, busted rear glass........only in a ford

Shiney new slee driveshaft is sitting on my table. I have one cut tire (not too bad) and one leaking tire (as a spare) for this ride. Already called 4wheelparts and they are ordering replacements under my no questions warranty for when I get back

I hope to god that they are not fencing off that area. I bet it's just the normal closures. As Andy stated, it is game lands. THey usually open everything up for bear season and then close some of it the rest of the year. I would imagine that the locals would not fancy well to closing down there hunting lands.

As for the rain; i learned that if they call for a 30% chance....that really means 90%. Basically, if there's a chance of rain, it'll rain.

Yep! Got all the truck mechanicals done (except the putting the new driveshaft in part) so I figured I would get some stuff out of the way.

- Clothes packed
- Sleeping gear packed
- Table, chair, cooler, cooking gear packed
- Food purchased, just need to toss in the cooler with ice
- Chainsaw gets packed today, just in case
- 5 gal jerry gets packed today
- Going to buy a portable toilet seat for my woods pooping comfort today
- Beer is the last thing...Friday morning in Sylva

Truck stuff was more than I expected...

- Oil change
- General once over on all bolts, etc
- Driveshaft removal (discovery of badness, ordered new)
- Idler pulley replacement
- Found two big cuts in my Iroks, one leaks, one is okay
- Installed laptop mount for Tablet PC and GPS goodness (I downloaded some new movies...transformers anyone?)
- Lubed everything
- Checked all fluids (diffs, etc)
- Replaced front ring and pinion, which involved a front axle tear down
