I was surprised you didn't have them fill in the sunroof hole.

That's a pretty special school program. Most of them these days ONLY do collision repair and it's sketchy at best. That looks more like the Car Restoration Program in Hutchinson, KS that concentrate on fully documented restoration processes.

Very nice work!

Are you talking about McPherson? We've hired a few interns from there with mixed reviews.

Sorry, yes I DO mean McPherson!

I toured their program a number of years ago and I was thoroughly impressed!

Clifford is back in my hands. The fit/finish and quality of paint work is spot on. Other than being slow at 4400 ft elevation with stock gearing and 40" tires it drive like a stock rig....go figure.

Bravo! Looks spectacular! Now, what do we do to keep the nice new paint from getting beat to sh*t by crap kicked up from the wide tire stance? Doing flaps or anything? What bumpers are going on? Is it "Bring Your Truck To Work Day" and post new website vids of your tools making your stuff?

I'm going to clear wrap the entire vehicle. Fortunately the local authority in Bend does not pay any attention to tires sticking out of the fenders. When I lived in Oregon City you could not drive across the river with out getting pulled over for a "tire violation" Other than than I'm gong to run with out flares or mudflaps.

As for a new website....one is enough. I have been eyeballing the ARB 200 series bumpers as I think they are the best looking front bumper on the market, however it will require a lot of modification in lenght, width and height, to get it to conform to the 80. However we have tools for that.

Wow that’s great work. What off set are the wheels your running. Are the tires 13.50 wide?

42's?.........
I wrote 42s then deleted, I remembered you wrote you have been there & done it....but yeah the rears would definitely but fronts would need some bump stops to fit 42s.
Looks great! Got any detail shots of how you managed the front inner fenders? Have to move a bunch in the engine bay that was on the fenders?
OP has been evasive on the engine compartment pics... he just got it back from paint. Im sure he will eventually show us some Cruiser Porn... 😎 let's be patient & let him get past the pretty paint job, then later he will eventual lift her hood & reveal the inner...👀 fenders.
👏👏👏

While down at Overland Expo west this year, I went down there with one purpose to find accessories that I want to bolt up to Clifford. That did not pan out very well as Overland Expo this year was full of Tacoma's and Sprinters. I know that the 80 is an old girl and old news to many of the vendors these day. I was shocked by how poor the selection of aftermarket options are for these 22 year old vehicles.

The rear bumper will most likely be a Delta unit, however I will not run a spare tire. I never ran one on my TJ with 40" tires and I put over 50K miles on that rig and played in all the fun spots, Hammers, Moab, Rubicon, ECT with only one flat that I was able to plug with a simple plug kit.

The front bumper options are limited, a majority of the designs out there look like they were built in the late 90's or simple designs that I could created out of our shop over the weekend. I'm wanting something similar to what AEV puts out, the best looking thing I found was this ARB bumper built for the 200 series Land Cruisers.

I will be ordering up this bumper and cutting it down in both length, width and height to match it up to the much smaller 80 series Land Cruiser.
