Very nice, very clean... Do you know who restored it? ( I assumed you didn't just because you said you've only owned it a few months.) Consider yourself a lucky man! It's a beauty! Have fun :steer: !

Great truck . Did you put the front bull bar on ? Manufacturer ?

Thanks laxman33. I believe the bullbar is an ARB, but I can't verify that - no manufacturer's details remain on the bar. It doesn't look exactly like other ARB bars I see here on Mud due to the tube loop being angled outwards rather than inwards. The bar is steel rather than alloy and it came with the vehicle. I might go through the PO's receipts and see if he bought it.

RPM1135, that's a gorgeous piece of equipment mate. Congrats on starting with a nice, solid Cruiser. Much cancer in the metal? What's the deal with your side front indicators, aftermarket or off a 100 series? I like them a lot. Been considering taking the blinkers off the front guards and replacing them with 100 series for the sides and earlier model round FJ40 ones for the front.

Not sure if I ever posted in this thread. So here is my contribution. It is my daily driver most of the time topless in the sub freezing temps.

Nothing special in the mods section expect for some uber-sweet PO added oak running boards. Believe it or not when someone new sees my truck the first compliment I always get is the oak running boards.

After the Springover

I posted the before shots a couple of weeks ago- here are the after shots. Question was asked- did it fit in the garage after the SOA. I adjusted the garage door opener to pull the door all the way up and back, and it just fits.

Where I can find a white top?!. Looks great!

Not sure, wish I had gotten it still dissassembled so I could have put it back together myself and learned as I went. Still trying to get the guy I bought it from to cough up the PO info, he's kind of an a**hole. I just want the history and see if the PO has a box of missing do-dads laying around. Luvin it though!

No, have'nt found any cancer yet. Rear sill looks like it may have been replaced at some point but my only clue is that the spare tire carrier latch was welded on (sloppy I might add) instead of bolted on. I currently have the frt doors apart and there is only very slight surface rust inside soooo I'm hopin she's disease free. Those frt lights are stock from what I can tell, checked on SOR when you asked. How do '71 stock lights look down under? mate!

Daily Driver

It's not a 40 and it's driven only when the surfs up.

1967 FJ-45 new 350 crate motor, T400 transmission. Powder coated FJ-80 axles with 4-wheel disc brakes. 4" Alcan springs w/ Downey Shackles. New Flaming River tilt column, power steering. Man-a-Fre front bumper. custom lumber rack, for surf boards of course. Stock wheels widened to 10" powder coated black.
35" MTR's

Mike

Here is a picture when I took delivery from Bruce Miller. Funny thing, my wipers were also in the glove box. Never put them on.

Cheers

add a factory diesel and its pretty much one of my dream vehicles. I wouldnt prolly change a whole lot about it either.

Oh WOW!

Man I think that is a beautiful rig Ghetto Fireman! I would definitely like a little more history/build facts on that one! Thank you for posting that up!

Weekend Driven 77 FJ40

Ive posted this before , but it's been awhile. This was a 7 year project for me ,as i had not ever owned a FJ40 before. 350 SBC mated to stock 4spd Toyota tranny. Factory transfer case and 4:11 gearing on 35 x12 wheels mounted to 15" forged alloys. 4 wheel disc brakes. I wanted to keep this pretty much stock looking except for the 4" Downey lift and rear fender flares.

Gotta clean your clutch fluid... :p

Am I blind or what? I don't see any windshield wipers? Is it that way for aesthetics or just not installed yet?

That truck was built by Bruce Miller if I'm not mistaken. I've got the second truck in the attached link (the light green one). For some reason neither of the 3 trucks in his pics had the wipers on 'em. My truck had wipers in the glove box but they weren't in any condition to do any good on the glass anyway.

Cruisers For Sale

Here's mine now.

Changes since Miller had it were:

Bikerso at Eco-Offroad in Oregon installed:

H55F 5sp transmission, 3.70 diffs, Saginaw power steering, windshield squirters, windshield wipers, etc.

Alaska Mountain Experience here in Anchorage installed:

2.5" OME lift a couple three months ago.

Last month I tossed a set of 255/85-16's on with the aluminum wheels and I just finished yanking the old wiring harness out and sent it to Coolerman today where he'll be building a new one to put back in. While it's down I'm also going to shim the body and bed, rehab a few odds and ends, etc.

Sorry; it's a cell ph pic...

(edit: Bikerso was xlnt to work with. Absolutely xlnt. Matter of fact he's got another 45 of mine now. I found him to be generous, honest, a craftsman, and a pleasure to deal with.

AME here in Anchorage is the guy to contact for accessories and parts. I've been shocked at what he could come up with and the way he could get them up here cheaper than I could... way cheaper. If you're in Alaska and haven't called Ehren at AME, you've screwed up.)
