That million mile 4.7 v8 Toyota dissected, was made in Alabama. So our 100 series 4.7 made in Japan certainly should obtain the same detail to Assemble and produce 1 milllion.... miles. In theory!

I will gladly test this for yall. So far, can more than half confirm. Got my 100 at 485,XXX and currently sitting at 515,000 after a year and a half. So at that pace I should hit 1,000,000 in about 2036.

If this Alabama made 4.7 is same as our Japanese production engines- We certainly shouldn’t have any issues obtaining 500-600 + on the regular.

The 4.7 was the base engine in the 2007+ Tundra (dropping the 4.0 V6). It was used through 2009 (in the 120 series as well) until the 4.6 succeeded it in 2010.

The 5.7 and 4.6 have been around long enough that some high mileage examples would have to be out there but I haven't heard of any that come close to the 4.7.

How's it running? Any major issues?
The phrase that comes to mind is “tight as a drum“. No significant issues at all. Engine runs super smooth, suspension rides super smooth with no aftermarket parts other than airbags in the rear. Transmission shifts perfectly other than the clunk is not as smooth as my ‘06 LX.

Getting up there with some of y’all. (Sorry... I just had to post those numbers up here. Ya it’s a humblebrag)

FYI you can't post "high mileage" pics until you hit at least 300,000....that's when these are considered high mileage.

I've just dumped a lot of money into mine for mods/maintenance/repairs. I'm curious with my mechanical skills and the knowledge of this forum, how long I can keep this thing running for. Marvel engineering to say the least.

Another day at the office in the LC charting nautical miles.

There's no stopping a Cruiser with "White Wedding" playing...

Our 99 LX after a relatively uneventful ~2400mi round trip to/from Silverton CO:

While it is a "lightweight" compared to other posts in this thread, this vehicle has more miles than our other two 100 series combined, but it is still a pleasant and reliable highway cruiser, and it did just fine on the trails too.

Does this count?
