I picked up a Stumpjumper EVO Expert while it was on sale last month. I was about to buy a base alloy just a few weeks before this went on sale. This is definitely more bike than I need, but it was a way better value for not that much more and I couldn't resist. It's been a blast so far. This is my first carbon bike though and I'm still somewhat nervous about it long term.

this is the bike that is on the podium of every single am, expert, and pro class race in Arkansas Enduro series. Somethings got to be working on that thing. Specialized definitely got it right on the EVO

Carbon bikes are much more resilient than you think haha they just dont like direct impact to sharp pointy rocks. This wreckoning V3 is still kicking ass to this day. This bike was carbon bars, seat, frame, wheels

Does there happen to be video of how this ended? I can't imagine a scenario that's good, but I'm hopeful.

Hahaha its very very very underwhelming. The wooden platform is pretty narrow on that drop and i was like going off the side so i just jumped off. The squeak in the video is the handlebars and stem twisting 270 degrees haha As always the drop looks smaller on video

This is actually my main concern. The carbon on the bottom of the down tube is incredibly thin and a lot people seem to be cracking that area due to rock strikes. I'm sure it's overblown online though. I'll just warranty it or repair it if that day ever comes.

That's great. Have you been to Area 51 down in Hernando? Looks like they are building some pretty solid drops. I don't MTB anymore but keep an eye on those trails for running.

You can add stick on armor? Something like this? Or I have a buddy that uses cut up old tire and zip ties.

I can see that. Thankfully specialized has like the best warranty in all of mtb! I wouldn’t stress too much man

Yeah I ride there a lot! A few of my friends build the jumps and the new drop they just opened up there. We tried to build all of that stuff at stanky creek but someone on the mtb Facebook group reported us to the parks department :/

Looks like my 2011 Vamoots RSL is getting a major overhaul...needed a new cassette/small chainring, and finding DA7900 parts is getting almost impossible. So, out with the old 10 speed drivetrain and in with a new 12 speed (DA9200) setup. Wondering how long before all mechanical shifting and rim brake groupo's are discontinued...time to save up and update my other bike running DA7900

It’s awesome to see the bikes from 2006 to now. Didn’t make it through all 73 pages but glad this thread was started!

The geometry has gone all over the place.

Like this noteable mention from earlier in this thread. Check out that seat tube angle!

First bike - cove stiffee
p.3 specialized
Norco 1hun frame and misc parts
Devinci Magma
Marin attack 7
Kona Sutra
Rocky Instinct
Evil offering

Each bike has a story in my life. I have a young family and my hopes are to do bike trips with them.

Maan that seat tube, and rear shock. and giant front chain ring. Times sure have changed. For what its worth, Evil Offering is probably one of my favorite bikes ive ever owned.
