Thanks Jon, that will make it easy for me.

Did you have a chance to fold down the 2nd seat, see how the drawers lined up height-wise with the folded seats?

FWIW the African Outback and the Outback 4WD Interior share the same dimensions; my AO drawers sit level with the tops of the folded down 2nd row. You just need a little something (plywood, cardboard, etc.) to bridge the gap between the drawer frame and the folded seats if you're thinking about using it as a sleeping platform.

thanks for the review Jon. My drawers are in at Slee and will be picking them up

How come you didn't remove your rear seat belts before you installed them?

I was planning on putting my fridge on the passenger side because the view is already obscured by the tire on the bumper. I am thinking the slide (not what you did) on the driver side would allow easier access because you can stand to the side and reach in where the other side has the open tire carrier in the way. Curious about the view out your rear window with the fridge and tire carrier

I still plan on using the 3rd row occasionally (1-2x per year, Vegas baby!). I estimate that I can remove the drawers in about an hour or so. The seat belts looked like a PITA to remove and it's just one more thing to reinstall.

As for the view, I don't really notice. Slee's tire carrier already blocks most if what you need to see. The fridge sits behind the driver and behind the 60% section which was also intentional. l always have the twins with me so putting the fridge on the DS makes sense because I can fold or remove the 40% section and have the full length to work with. Also, I'm planing on adding the ladder as soon as Christo gets around to selling the Rotopax swingout.

Pic show view from rearview mirror level. Note the fridge is at the same level as the headrests.

Cheers

These look really great. Do you know if it would be possible to install only drawers on one side? and in this case, could the 3rd row seat be used on the other side?

I've been looking for a drawer solution that would allow me to have a drawer (or two stacked drawers) on one side, and retain the ability to use one seat on the other side.

Have you looked at the AT Trailers drawers?

the drawers come seperate and you have to bolt them together, so I don't see why that wouldnt work

Then the frame must be different than my AO drawers...as the frame on the AO's would need to be cut in 1/2 to accommodate.

Dan - maybe I am misunderstanding but the drawers come as seperate units. The photo from post one shows the bases after they have been bolted together

When I got the boxes, it was one drawer in one box, take them out, remove the slidding drawer and bolt the two frames together. Bolt the joinde frames into the truck, add the 100 side molding and then reinstall the sliding drawers

^^^maybe they could be stacked one atop the other or just one run by itself so the OP could run one 3rd row jump seat.

For comparison only: The AO (African Outback...which I recently learned is a copy of the original Outback 4x4 drawers you have. Confusing!) drawer frames would need considerably more modification to make them solo or stackable.

Add this build thread to the 100 series sticky?
Very helpful, thank you for posting!

I never tried but I think you could run a single drawer and a third row seat. It seems like they both come to the exact center.

You can stack them as well. Lots of options if you go through the ARB site

What's the mechanism by which the ARB drawers are mounted to the 3rd row seat mounts? Is it such that even with only a single drawer installed on one side it would remain well anchored?

I could see how with two drawers, some of the sideways forces could be transferred all the way to the walls, which would help things remain centered (not sure if this is the case.) Clearly, with just one drawer, such a support from the walls could not be counted upon.

^^^ Shouldn't be an issue given the mount/bolt locations.

Yes. Each drawer is mounted using 2 bolts to the third row seat attachment points. Even with only one drawer it will be tight against the floor minimizing rocking side to side. With 2 drawers it is rock solid.

Any idea of the extra weight you have added to the truck?

I had planned on this from the beginning and utilized Slee's Heavy Springs in the rear. Shocks are Fox Remote Res running 200psi.

(2) Drawers are ~50-60#
(1) Side floor kit ~10#
(1) Tembo Tusk Load Spotter ~90#
(1) National Luna 50L ~70-80# Full
Tools, spares and recovery ~70#
Other stuff in the drawers ~30#

Total 370-380#

Note that the 3rd row seats offset a portion of this so the total added weight is probably similar to large man.

Beautiful set up!

I was under the impression that they had the roller slides for full extension, No?

Either way this is the nicest set up that is finally available in the US.

One more thing for the Lotto wish list.
