Ole Blue got back on the rack for a couple of long overdue projects.

Cat back OEM exhaust. Not bolt in on mine because I had a rattling Flowmaster 40 in my old system. Had to weld it in but was able to refresh all the rubber isolators with OEM pads.

Next I retorqued all of the Flip Kit Ubolts. They all took a bit. Always good to do on a new setup.

I also replaced some body mounts and hardware that was looking rough with some new via Toyota

I’m working on an FJ40 for @jomelo and he got a set of FJ Company alloy wheels for it. The plan was to swap his tires over to the wheels and be done with it.

Well I just love the 255/85-16 and City Racer 16’s so much I decided to go full circle and put them back on my 60.

I say full circle but maybe not all the way. I decided to keep the 1” spacers and now I’m happy with the stance. If I had been able to run rhe Fifteen52 wheels without a spacer (airbag clearance, see above) then all this would not have happened. Now I’m back to my favorite tire size with just a bit more width.

I’m happy.

Also, @CruiserTrash is making 3D printed rear seat bumpers to eliminate the latch rattle we all hate. If yours are gone hit him up for a pair.

I had a funny dream that wngrog didn't win the Powerball. If it makes you feel better, I didn't either.

@wngrog Man, I lust after those wheels. As soon as I put my money towards necessary things I keep telling myself I'll spend some on vanity items. I'll report back in 2029.

Thanks for the shout out on the seat bumpers too! FYI, those are not 3D printed - they are hand-cast from liquid urethane rubber into silicone molds I made from the original OEM parts! I got a thread going about it with lots of pictures. In any case, I hope they help to quiet some noises in your fleet.

Funny thing is I had one and did not know it. Drivers side was missing but the passenger is there. It’s gooshy as a fat girls boob but it’s there. Yours are like a nice fresh set 👙

"gooshy as a fat girls boob"

Never heard that one before - I about spit out my drink over here when I read it

Pre flight on Ole Blue today getting ready for a trip to Missouri.

All is good and I added this new washer bottle. These “jars” are still available. Grab one while they are.

Ol' Blue is looking so beautiful! Did you order the jug? Mine just started cracking.

It’s a superb upgrade
Yeah, let's talk more about the hood shocks..... Same mounting holes as the original assist springs?

Lower mounts are existing M6 fender bolts. Hood takes M6 rib nuts.

Lots of threads on which to buy. I may have even documented the part numbers here a few pages back

After I installed the flip kit I found the suspension on Blue got very firm. I adjusted the MRRs in all settings and could not figure out what the hell I had done. I put the shocks back to soft and figured out my problem. The rear shocks were designed for this kit with the stock lower position, not in the 2” up position that the flip kits provide (to get them up and away from rocks)

I pulled the shock boots up and I only had 2” of uptravel.

I called Dave and he sent me a new set of lower plates that are horizontal and not 2” up.

I’m loaded up for the Swine Soirée.

EDiT: we later figured this out. Dobinsons shocks are only 1” longer but the spring packs are 2” thinner than the OME packs.
