Is this similar to the trip that Troll and JP took last year sometime in the 45?

Lets hope not considering they never got any further than NC!
Also I see Trollhole got his rainbow on the tshirt design as well.

Yeah I see the 100 guys have a run the same time. We won't be far apart from you.

Well if y'all forget something let me know. I can provide MudShipping...

Stopped by and saw JP and Steve on the way home from vacation yesterday. The rigs look good, Steve will be riding in pleasure where as JP will earn the coveted Iron Butt award for doing this trip on a bench seat. 4 days to go!

Thanks!! I hope you CO guys realize how lucky you are to have this kind of stuff in your backyard

You can deliver my LV while you are out here. :grinpimp:

Sounds like an awesome trip. Any of you guys running HAM radios?

Unfortunately we won't don't have any licensed to use HAM, but we do have a Sat. phone so we can call in our parts requests to you guys:hillbilly:

I'm around if you guys end up needing a plan. PM'ed a cell number.

Thanks Corbet! It is a nice comfort knowing help isn't too far away if we need it

Looking at your day 5 route you need to check with the forest service on road closures. The West Fork Fire complex had some closures in the Creede area. They my effect your exit strategy over Stoney Pass.

Thanks for the heads up, I have been watching that fire complex intently and I believe they opened Stony all the way back up to the Creede side over the weekend. I think some areas of the route we will def. have to be scrapped south of Creede but I am really hoping Stony stays open as that looks like a really senic area

Pretty much anything south and/or west of Creede and South Fork is off limits as its on or was on fire recently.

Kite Lake is a nice spur off of Stoney Pass and makes for a great lunch spot. But given the planned route on day 5 you don't have time for side trips. If you can't get out on Stoney then you can go over Cinnamon Pass to end back at Lake City. I know if you can make it into Creede the town will appreciate any tourism dollars you spend there.

There is some stuff to wheel south of HWY 160 after leaving Southfork. If you need info on it let me know. Wheeler Geographic Area is east of Creede and and may be worth a trip in if its not full of smoke http://www.sangres.com/features/wheelergeologic.htm#.Ue7G-xa5M20

Nice. Safe travels my friends. Very much wish I could join you and I suspect the elk in NW CO agree...

Above all else, keep Richard away from the wildlife. :grinpimp:
