welcome to mud. Wow WHAT A BEAST!!!!!

Thanks guys

Troll - No I left the knuckles alone, I think I was able to get away with it for two reasons. Dual cases helped the angle of the driveline and it is trailered everywhere.

Wayne - Yes In ALASKA, the steering box is mounted inside the frame with the pitman arm pointing forward. Very similar to the saginaw chevy box but the pitman arm faces the opposite direction.

Lots of room behind the front x-member and wanted to mount the 16.5TI winch flush with the frame in front of the crossmember where the chevy saginaw box normally lives.

I do have front fenders that are going on the rig. Just have to get some ambition.....

If you look close at the winter shot you can see the new sheet metal on the rear quarter ( I suck very much bad at body work ) the wheel well ( flare ) is a trailer fender I cut about twelve thousand slits with a porta band to match the factory flare as close as possible. I believe the rear fenders are slightly tubbed but not too much.

I parted out a rig with allot less rust than this one began with but the repairs had already been completed:whoops:

It looks good from about ten feet away.

I have fit the front fenders, no cutting is required and it looks good with fenders. I just need to create mounting surfaces for the apron on the inner fender.

I really don't look forward to the day when I flop the rig. Toooo much body work.

Thanks for the notes on the body work. I was thinking about fender and quarter bars to make a flop minimized in terms of damage but I think, inevitably, there will be damage. I have seen two 55's flop in photos and in threads, not too terribly bad if it is gentle.

Your rig is sweet. I am happy to see such a fine beast in service:beer:
