The passenger side was a different story. When I pulled the hub cover off I noticed that the retaining spring had failed so the hub gear was engaged even though the setting on the hub was on "free". There was signs of rust in the hub and the spindle housing is showing some uneven wear.

At this point I'm not sure what to do. Any advice would be welcomed. I've been reading a few threads about this where others have had the same issue. One mudder, Pinhead?, I think that is his name, suggest using a center punch and make a 100 or more hammer points with the punch to give the bearing something to grab and using green bearing locktite. Good idea? I read other threads of his, and he seems to know his stuff. My other option, of course, is to source a replacement.

Bad Idea unless you're stuck somewhere and need to get home.

1st choice, TG makes a chromoly spindle and I bought mine from Cruiser outfitters.

2nd Choice, you pay shipping and I’ll send you one of my old ones, not perfect but much better than your old one.

Thanks JMack,

That's the answer I've been looking for. I really need to stop looking at prices from $or. TG's is much more affordable. I will take you up on your offer, thanks. Can you pm me your paypal account and I'll wire the funds for shipping to Albuquerque, NM 87106.

Took the pig out for a little spin today!:bounce:

I had to get to some things and the rig was in the way. My intention was to just back it down the driveway, get what I needed out, and pull it back into it's nearly 3 year resting spot.

It didn't go as planned;

First I drove it around the block.

Next, I took it to the gas station for a fill up.

Then my son called needing a ride, and being the good parent that I am, I drove out and picked him up.

The wife was home when we got back, and being the great husband that I am, I offered to take her and the dog to the park.

The goofy grin on my face has subsided a little, so I'm better now.:)

Here's some pics:

Yep, bumper is from Bump It Offroad. Mike did great job! I had to do very little tweaking to bolt it on.

Question, after watching my wife haul herself up and in the passenger seat, I need to start thinking about a step or running board/slider that I can use? I don't plan on any heavy wheeling, so sliders are a bit of overkill, but maybe that's my only option. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Check out the ones that Tucker installed in his "Fresh Pork" thread. Nice style and function looks like.

Absolutely awesome!!!

Thanks for the compliments!

Ferntucky, I checked out Tucker's sliders. That's basically what I'm looking for, the plate steel on top is a nice touch.

Terrific paint scheme. Very nice.

Glad you are pleased with Mike's work! He is a great guy.

I'm pretty sure that's an OME suspension set up. The shocks for sure are OME. All done by the PO, but I have my doubts if it was done correctly. There are no shims on the front or shackle reversal. I've been meaning to post pictures and questions about the set up, but I figured I'd drive it for a while and address any issues later. Yes those are BFG 33x 10.5 tires.

RUSH55, upper weatherstripping and around tailgate is from slocruisers. I did see recently upper weatherstrip for sale on ebay, but pricey $300.00?

Yes, the ebay weatherstrip is pricey at $300. I recently checked and the same piece at SloCruisers is $240.
