The pig is doing well. My wife is using it more than me though.
The future plan is to swap a bigger motor in it and put the current motor in the 40, which is currently sitting collecting dust. This is the main reason for selling the LV. I need the funding.

That's a good question. I'm leaning towards a UZ swap, but there's a lot more info here in the sty with nearly everyone going with the LS swap.

@fj55-100 , @YukonCruisers , and @TachedOutOffRoad went with UZ engines.

I can’t really comment on anything UZ.
LS on the other hand, I will say, gives you a lot of options to choose from for adapting systems like steering pumps, water pumps, AC compressors, alternators, fuel pumps, fuel lines, wiring, ECM’s, starters, sensors, radiators, hoses, transmission adapters, engine parts, etc…
Don’t ask how much I’ve spent though, not supposed to talk about that.

This is true for the 1UZ as well. If going down that path, the challenging parts are: harness (get from Cartunes in NZ - unless you are an expert, this is the way, ask me how I know); finding a rear sump to install for front axle clearance (most have front sumps). These engins though can be tuned to over 1000hp, so lots of options here as well. Mine isn't done yet, so I can't really talk to performance, but with a Link harness, should be sitting around 300+ without much modification. If I was to do over, I'd probably go LS, fewer headaches, not sure the appeal of 'keep'n her all Toyota' is worth the extended build time.

uz oil pan off the lx470 or cruiser clears the front diff in mine but i am spring over ,, one of the vendors on here will make you a plug and play harness , i have used him . . uz oil pans come in several styles all of which i see on ebay .

I love my 2UZ Pig

I bought a harness from Off Road Solutions and a bell housing from NorthWest Toys to run a manual trans behind it. It’s a ton of fun.

I’m sure LSs are easier or whatnot, but I’m a Toyota nerd.
