It's been a few years but there was a switch around 2004 to drive by wire so you would just need to get the pedal as well, and then in 2005 maybe 2006 they went to the A750 transmission, which I don't believe just bolts up to the full time TC. But my brain might be getting rusty, I am sure Christo has all that info.

Oh and another difference is that the LX and LC motors were built in Japan and the Tundra motors weren't. Evan Jenkins, who was probably the first guy to do this swap and a Lexus Master Mechanic believed the tundra motors weren't as good.

We sell those GoalZero lights and the are pretty cool, but never thought of the application to install USB ports all over the truck and use the lights for interior lighting. Pretty nifty idea there.

I wish they had an on/off switch as i could leave them pluged in

Out of an LC. Can't determine year, but have requested more info (VIN and shipping) via email.
Oddly, either gray LCs are more prone to roll overs than other colors, or this may be a repeat sale.

I will call Christo before buying anything, because I know he'll tell it like it is, wether it's what I want to hear or not.

All of this regarding the next project, which this would be for. Need to come to grips with the harsh reality that I'm STILL in the "bolt on" crowd, and that outsourcing is expensive. $20k is $20k, but relatively speaking, well spent for Slee's involvement.

Considering Lexus and Toyota, only, the perception of the most power was in my GX470, much more so than the what butt dyno perceives the 1UR in current GX460, but such a dramatic change from the previous generation, it may be in my head.

I feel the 2UZ is the pinnacle of Toyota's engineering in the same way the 80 is, respectively to purpose, but have yet to drive the 2UR, which Lexus rep claims an addictive experience.

I've too much invested in this 1FZ to abandon, now and for off road, think much more than what it's putting out in it's current form may cost me axle after axle, considering the 37s. I considered it a sign that when typing an "I'll take it" PM to purchase a new SC, that was on its second listing and tenth bump ( otherwise, no interest seemed to be expressed for ) that I received an email notification of its "sold" status, before hitting send.

Mr. T must be looking out for my axles. Hahahaha.

By the time the Austinian's get this turbo dialed in, I may sing a different tune. Hahaha.

Thanks for the pic. :)

Leave the CPU. Bring the friends. Hahaha.

We have horse racing in Tulsa (hahaha), Hard Rock Casino, and what used to be the most elite shopping in the world......seventy years ago. Hahaha.

I agree $20k well spent with Slee's involvement...i'm just trying to wrap my head around $20k

The girls love to travel so that is a sure thing...

Ryan, you are correct...the 2004 has more power but does not bolt up..

The Rosen visor came into play Saturday evening... A fast moving rain left the roads really wet and the sun popped out... I was headed due west directly into the sun and was pretty much blinded by the reflection off of the wet roads... Look at the left lower corner of the picture and you'll get the idea of how bright it was... Pulled down the Rosen's.... I loved these visors
I also switched from a 35w ballast and 5000k 35w bulbs to 55w ballast and 5000k 50w bulb ... The 55w ballast tend to bleed out the color so running a 50w 5000k keeps the color almost true to 5000k ... These things are really bright ...here's a low beam shot... I will no doubt have to adjust them accordingly

I found some Spacers that are not hub centric and are 2 inch spacers. Do you think they would solve the need for a dremel mod and not screw up the clearance? I'm going to go with about 33.5 inch tires

Just picked up my truck from IPOR this evening ... Had the truck re-geared,, with front axle rebuild and Slee's slotted rotors all around. Driving 60 miles back was a real pleasure with the new gears..

There was a little confusion as to what I thought I was getting and what was installed so 4.56 was the size ..they installed. The trucks headed to Slee's next month for the V8 swap so I should be good with 4.56 but may change to 4.88 down the road

I recently got a 13 week old yellow lab and took him to the vet for a first visit. In the exam room he relaxed on the table and my attention went immediately to the mat he was laying on ... pebble grain tough cover over foam and a woven looking backing.. So I inquired and was giving Pet Edge as the name of the company. I have been looking for a non slip mat for the top of my drawer system and this was the perfect solution but the size 24 x 48 was the only size available so I ordered a few. Cut to size an used super glue to seam the two larger sections together.. This is with out a doubt the highest quality mat I have found just wish it came in larger sections Lou

I just spent 1.5 hours reading this whole thread. All I can say is WOW!

I cannot wait to see how the V8 swap turns out.

Nice 80!!

Hi Lou,

I just came across your built and is truly impressive and done right every step of the way!

What engine are you looking into swapping?

I am currently doing a Vortec 6.0L on mine.

Anyhow, hats off to you and your great TLC.

Merry Christmas.

Carlos

Dropping in a 2UZ from a Tundra.. I should have some pictures after Christmas to post.. The shot below was another 2UZ project at Slee. My motor will get the same silver powder coat on the manifold and valve covers...
