Man, that 2UZ is so sexy Lou.

I'm very happy you kept it Toyota as opposed to the American engines or the bull**** Cummins engines.

By the way, I was at an LX dealership today and man they spend a lot of money giving the customer a good experience. Very impressive.

Speaking of a Lexus experience.. I was able to pickup the Lexus of roof top tents about 6 hours away. Headed to NC Monday to bring it home... The Air Top Medium Maggiolina.. used three nights.

I'd need a few more digits on that counter.

:)

Went back a few pages to see if details were given to the depth delved into the 2UZ. Will check out Christo's thread on their MO, after reading your reply to Onur, though.

Not tech and I'm sorry, but can't help it.

Luke -

Looks great - Will Cruise still work with this swap?

Thanks,

John

I believe so... but I'm not a fan of cruise control and have rarely used it on any car I've owned

Lou

Understand - Unfortunately due to a hip injury I need to use it on long trips or my ride becomes too painful..

I'll keep an eye on this thread, but let us know if its functional when complete.

Good luck with everything..

Just heard from Christo...cruise control will function normally

If I wasn't thousands of miles away christo would have my money :)

I've really got to get down there and check this out when I pick up the rear bumper.

It should be there another 2 weeks and then off to the exhaust shop .. and back to Slee for testing... Pickup date is around Feb 10th

That seems like a great turn time for such an extensive project.

If you would, could you provide some more information on that motor and what you elected to do with it if any prior to installation... Did you have the intake coated???

Thanks,

John -

If you go through Slee's 2UZ thread... It took him two years of R&D and they have done a few of these so they have it down.... he sourced a 70k Tundra motor and going with a Remanned Land Cruiser Trans. I did elect to powder coat the manifold and valve covers and it's pretty standard for them to change timing chain and water pump.. other than that you'd have to ask Slee for more details
