Haha.

I have an alligator mouth and a tadpole ass, in that department.

It's important to know "for what" you're building, to know "how" to do it right.

Have sent links to this page to the aforementioned fiberglass fabricator to mimic pods, since I didn't do that right, the first time.
Haha.[/QUOTE]

If you're heading in that direction... depth and location are your enemy with the pods.... Ryan had to have his fixed because they hit the floor and the front door frame.. and mine hit the dash...
Take a close look at the floor and you'll see it's not level with the sill
If your running tweeters have him cut small holes in the pod for the tweeter's .... its a mistake I made ..mounting them high on the door ...I'll be moving mine down to the pod very soon...for a better sound blend

Almost done with the dual battery setup... Using Slee's washer bottle relocate kit and installed the new battery box. Pickup a group 34 Sears Platinum Marine battery..
I'm using all the Blue Sea stuff... which makes it a pretty straightforward install ...

Just an observation.

The polarity colored caps don't appear to match the terminal.

I like the simplicity of the Blue Sea and thinking that's the route for me.

Thanks, someone was playing with my caps. I should have it wired up in a few days

Checking out your thread, that is one sexy rig! Just curious if the pics of your awning at the horse race are from Gold Cup, and which rail is that you are parked at

If the offer extends, considering your friends, it's tempting. Haha.

Did you mount the Blue Sea isolator where previously depicted?

Edited: after an unplanned foray through the muck, I observed more debris in the engine bay than I thought possible, especially my air filter and relocated bottle.

Since Blue Sea is marine grade, shouldn't be an issue, right?

I'm going to agree with your assumption..that marine grade shouldn't be an issue but if you go out and put your truck in some deep ass creek...and short out your system.. its on you...Hahaha

As for mounting the switch I did drill four holes to mount it to the cruise control cover but decided to make a small bracket using sheet metal and mount it above the cover and use the two 12mm bolts that secure the cruise control and also bracket for the relocate washer bottle to the side of the truck
The automatic charging relay will mount to the fire wall as others have done

Thanks, the Blue Sea Dual Circuit System (Add a battery) and Blue Sea fuse blocks... Slee for relocate washer bottle and a new battery box. Sears for the marine battery and West Marine for wire and lugs.

Thanks, I'm gonna try to make it out this year. Gotta take the spare off the roof though...stupid 7' vehicle height rule:grinpimp:

Pretty full day today... It started at a Pick and Pull and came away with 4 OEM heated seat switches for future seat heaters . Then I mounted the Rosen visors.. these are fantastic.... I needed to make mounting brackets for two Blue Sea fuse blocks for the dual battery setup so I spilt a electrical box and made two brackets

Started with this

Brand new OEM visors... What do I do with them?

I understand the Solenoid for charging and separating both batteries. Can you explain what the 3 way switch will do with this setup? Excuse my noobness.

EDIT:

I just saw a better picture of the switch and its and off and on Switch to combine both batteries. I would assume you would use this when jump starting the main battery or running a winch.

What gauge wire will you be using for the whole setup? I assume your also adding a fuse box in the system to add accessories.

The link below will answer your question and I'm going to run 4G wire for everything. the two fuse blocks in post above go between each battery and the control box. I'm adding a relay box in the rear of the truck to run the rack lights and two 12v plugs

Incredibly it was 68 degrees today so I wrestled my Rhino Rack off the truck and mounted the LED lights I ordered from Nick.... when he did the group buy... Mounted the 42" to the rack using LabRaks drop mounts bolted up to an aluminum brace which I added. I mounted four 10w pods on the corners and two 2x2 on the back of the rack.. Just waiting for the switch plate and relay box and I'll get everything wired up

Nice thread. You have way too much time and money on your hands.

no soup for you!!

Lou,

Can't find any pics, but one thing I found useful with the LED bar was on the fly type adjustability.

I looked for some type of knurled aluminum knob with a security nut feature, and never found, but did happen upon knobs at Ace Hardware, of all places, that worked perfect.

If using for camping or whatever, it's handy to be able to spin it, a bit.

I use the knobs on the awnings for quick removal....The LabRak Tamper proof drop mount has a cap that you would have to cut to access the end bolts....but I'm having a hard time locating security bolts that I'm using to bolt the brace to the rack and the pod lights... I have found screws and small bolts but nothing bigger.... any idea's
