Not sure this is the one for the Aluminum R2.8 pan. Hard to tell. I will call them.
Same part number called out by Cummins.

Ok. So the transmission/clutch/input shaft questions are all answered now. I have a short GM style 6.5 inch input shaft with a TR4050 bellhousing. This means that everything fits EXCEPT for the jeep throwout bearing and throwout "arm". These items make the throwout bearing make contact with the pressure plate too soon. I've talked to Chad at Quickdraw and he's sending me a shorter throwout bearing and a custom throwout arm.

Another POTENTIAL issue is that the bearing retainer has a snout that's too long might make contact with the clutch disc face when the clutch is disengaged. So I shortened the bearing retainer 1/4"

Yeah, measurement from the cowl body mount plane to the centre of the motor mount?

I am assuming I will fab a trans mount so I am pretty free that way.

I'm concerned about having enough space for the cooling package. I bought the mishimoto stuff. And a spal fan.View attachment 2092541

Did you put the intercooler right against the rad? Do you have an ac condenser?

Did you end up using the bumper mounts?
What Mishimoto intercooler did you purchase?

Wait a second .. this one is starting to look like mine !!! LOL

Arthur ... FYI, what tranny mounts are you using ??? ... we started mine and quickly realized we have a MAJOR vibration through the cab at idle. We are having to switch to some custom made silicone mounts that we will be trying today.

Also, what dash gauges are you going to use ... if you are going Dakota Digital then just be aware the OBDII from the R2.8 will NOT work with the DD BIM setup and we had to run separate signal sensors to make it work ... which they all do now !!

Cheers

Steve did you use the Dakota Digital Interface Module, OBD-II / CAN Interface if so did that eliminate the Murphy Gauge that comes with the R2.8???

Yes ... we tried and could not get it to work. The Dakota Digital would not communicate with the OBDII BIM interface from Dakota Digital. We were going to run the Murphy anyway as it provides a LOT of data and if you want can set up warning lamps.

As I said, we ended up installing and running oil pressure, engine temp and Tach through the sensors we installed and the white #9 wire (tach) and its good ... well almost

We have now had to order the Diesel SGI-100BT BIM module to get the Tach close to where it should be ... this will be here on Thursday and I'll let you guys know how it works out. Again, we should be close, and again we will compare against the Murphy gauge

Cheers

Hey Steve,
I used this Amazon product ASIN B003AVTI0O. It bolted up almost perfectly under the tcase-tranny adapter from AA.

I started it up last weekend and vibration seemed fine. I used that mount for the tranny and the Axis engine mounts.

I'm using a Dakota Digital gauge. What sensors are you adding? I don't know anything about OBDII or BIM

Motning Arthur ... great news on the vibration, we found out later that the top of the tranny mounting bolt on the pass side was touching the cab floor ... oops

Ok, so you'll need to run the oil pressure, engine water temp and Tach .... then if you are using the Dakota Digital HDX you'll need to program the Tach to 16 cylinders lol ... this will get you close to actual

Cheers
Steve

Well it's been a while since I've posted. I had to leave Texas for a couple months at least, because my work visa expired. I'll come back to finish the car and drive it home in September or October.

Biggest issue at the moment is what I guess is a loose throwout bearing in the clutch. The tranny needs to be dropped and inspected. Engine came on pretty easy and all the electrical (except the horn..) is working fine.
