for those of you who've already been down this road - you know that feeling of buying your first FJ...I have that today!!

1988 FJ62..pretty much bone stock except for after market radio.

almost perfect specimen. literally no rust - none!

drivers seat - just a bit of wear - nothing like the rotted out stuff we normally see.

dash - pristine.

a pile of receipts 6 inches tall for everything ever done - records from 1988 onward...kinda crazy looking through it all.

only needs the front bumper straightened, new tires, and maybe some steering components / tie rods and such...i hear a little clunk from the steering and she's pretty loosey goosey. maybe a front main seal leaking.

otherwise...a true rust free gem.

i can't wait to get rid of my subaru and make this the DD.

Welcome to the adventure of owning a 60 series, friend! That looks like a pretty clean FJ62 that you've gotten yourself into. Other than the front bumper, she looks super straight. Those original wheels are looking real chromey, too!

There are a few more of us 60 owners in the Portland area and we're planning a meetup sometime in the next few weeks. You should come on by when we have a time and place set!

Nice rig

Very nice. Congratulations!

Nice truck. Congratulations. Don't call it an FJ. :D It's a Land Cruiser.

...or a "62"
Welcome to the best automotive forum ANYWHERE!!! Looks like you are off to a great start there.

Great looking 62 and remember 4 square are better than 2 round IMO

Great looking truck! Congrats, I was also gonna chime in on the name. I see everyone beat me to it. We simply refer to our trucks as my 60, or my 62. The fj is really reserved for the fj cruiser, and it isn't worthy of being in the cool kids club yet

Call it whatever you want, it's yours;).
