First layer of filler. It's the good fiberglass reinforced type.

One more picture just because........today was pretty toasty. About 105 outside and about 88 in my garage with the swamp cooler going full blast. I think the finish matches the patina of the rest of this pile. Super happy with the color match.

If you have an existing starter, there's no need to count flywheel teeth. 168 starters have offset bolt holes vs 153 starters that have bolt holes parallel to the flywheel surface.

 
The starter I have is not working and was bolted in with the wrong bolts and a ton of washers. I will have to give a look to its bolt pattern.
 
Given all the trouble with windshield hinges, I’m tempted to start soaking mine in oil for the eventually that it’ll need to be folded down to be repaired. I don’t remember having any trouble folding it down the last time I did… but that’s probably 30 years ago now. 🤷‍♂️
 
Windshield area mostly done. Even new oem wipers....lol. Added the hood dodads too.
I did not have the correct latch piece for the rear tire carrier. I cut the passenger side one and flipped the hook. Welded back together and test fit and works.
