Seat mounts are done. Pretty comfy.... plus now I can sit in the trucka and act like I am driving and make motor sounds. Kept the center console and added the rear heater too.
Need to install seat belts next.

Seat belts are installed using most of the stock mounting points. Just need to add a few tabs near the seat bases.

Got new tires to go with some oem drum wheels. New caps should be here soon to complete the package.

Looks awesome. Major upgrade from the wookie pube seat covers. What size are the tires brother?

Thanks. Tires are 31 x 1050 x 15.

Cleaned and painted the tail light area.

Got the interior removed. Trans tunnel is out with only 1 broken bolt. All the green tape spots are holes I am repairing.

Tub got the spray down. I'll get a better picture as soon as I pull off the masking.

I am happy with the results. I even filled a few holes on the top of the wheel wells. You can hardly tell where.

What exactly did you spray? and did you scuff or treat the floor before the spray with anything? I had bedliner on the floor of a previous rig but think I may just CLR and treat the one I'm working on now...

I wire wheeled the floor and cleaned it good as usual. Then primer. It's sprayed with Lizard Skin as mentioned before.
I started off this morning with bolting in some easy stuff. I had to drill out and retap the holes for the jack rod mounts. That was a pain due to being under the tub rail.

It's too dam hot to be doing this stuff.......but I carry on. Cleaning and painting stuff today. All po holes in the roll bar are welded up and smoothed out. Bummer is one of my wheels was junk....too rusted and had some holes. I have another wheel and a gas tank waiting for me in Tucson.

All my oem goodies arrived......dash pad, front bumper, lots of stuff. Should give me some easy things to bolt on for instant smiles.

Cleaned up the dash. Relettered the knobs. Bolted on a few new goodies. I love the contast between new and old.

 

[Living in the Past]

I'm going to just repair this rust with a patch welded to to the quarter panel.

But if I planned to use it with a hard top would go further. Weight on the weld from a hard top on driving off-road puts a lot of pressure from the weld under the edge of door out. I have a 61 with a rusted rear sill worse than this. The latch on the barn doors is helping to hold it together. That rust looks structural to me more than just patina. I would address it. Arizona rocks and washboard roads act like a hammer pounding on the location of the sill.

Didn't do much of anything today. Stared at it and thought of many things left to do though. Installed the cleaned and painted ash tray and glove box door. Keeping my old new look by retaining the old shift plaque. New dash pad is next. Gauge cluster cleaned up great and I am leaving it in its original paint.

Got a few of the tires and wheels mounted up today. I still need 1 or 2 more drum wheels to make a set and spare though. New oem dash pad and visors installed too.

Huge thanks to my friend Elvis, real legal name, for a couple of wheels to complete my set. I wire wheeled, flap disced, sanded and painted tonight.
