Big thank you to Tim for coming over to help make sure I didn't set myself on fire, another big thank you to Ramon for coming over to help me figure out the spring hanger location, and to Jerry for lending use of his plasma.

It'll be a while till the pad gets a cover! Need to see if my grand plan for a pole barn out back will pan out or not.

Any drawings for the 3 point hitch yet?

I've probably still got the drawings for my grad level ME design project (a linear motion 3-point hitch) somewhere ... :grinpimp:

from the dark ages when design drawings were done by hand ... none of this fancy-schmancy CAD stuff, no sir!:hillbilly:

Looking good Johnny :beer::beer:

Thanks guys! Going to try to get the spring hangers situated later this afternoon.

I'm going to build a rear bumper with a big hook, so I can pull stumps :hillbilly:

Just don't paint it John Deer Green

Ahh the good old days. I learned to do it all over again with a House Specific CAD program in 96 and drew plans for a living from 97 to 08. In 08 everything crashed and my phone stopped ringing. Here we are 6 years in and I am installing a 2 post lift tomorrow :)

Johnny, I think I am resigned to just calling your truck, Beast. Just DAMN!!!!!! Between the new Turbo and all the front axle love, well DAMN!!!!

Moonshine is an exercise in overbuilding. I want to be able to drive from here to Utah, wheel the s*** out of her in Utah, then drive back, without issue. If I encounter an issue, I want to be able to get parts anywhere, and I want those parts to be in stock.

Well that and I can't leave the truck alone :D

Did that 3 times in the FJC, including once adding Rubicon...:hmm:

Lookin good, Johnny. Looks like your new place is turning into a regular land cruiser workshop! Interested to see you like the Dana's.

Got a little bit done this week. My rear outboard perches are in place as are the spring mounts. I also found the correct TREs and a reamer so that I can ream the FZJ80 pitman arm for the 1 ton TRE. I built the tie rod and was very relieved when we found that it does not interfere with the oil pan.

Mike spent a few days at the house and got some work done on Burt.

Nice work man. Having that tie rod up and out of the way is def the way to go.

Got the front outboard perches placed, but not tacked. I'd like some advice on positioning. Due to the brackets having a sharp 90* inside corner, but the frame having a a gradual, maybe 1/4" radius 90" bend, there is space beteeen the brackets and frame in the inside corner. I think this will be fine, but wanted the opinion of the collective MUD brain before gluing the metal together. I'll let the pics say the rest:

As a side note, be careful to ream your pitman arm with the drill square to the arm, or this will happen.

Thanks all!!
