I just scanned over the input/replies here so please forgive if this has already been said .... Johnny, have you contemplated lopping .5 inches off the frame rails and then the new cross member being long enough to also serve as the spring hanger. With the right gusset plates I can see that being a very strong unit. The picture I stole from the web shows the wrong end of the spring but you get the idea.

Sort of. In addition to that idea raising your ride it also gives the rocks something new to find. Rather than passing a cross member under the frame rail my thought was along these lines. But the more I think of it the more i dislike what challenges that raises for winch mounting and future bumber design.
