I need some steel for the front crossmember, then time to weld it all in, need to make a relay rod (have everything I need) and then buy some brake line parts. I've got a front driveshaft that should work as well.

Hopefully the weather turns around soon so I can get back to work.
I just scanned over the input/replies here so please forgive if this has already been said .... Johnny, have you contemplated lopping .5 inches off the frame rails and then the new cross member being long enough to also serve as the spring hanger. With the right gusset plates I can see that being a very strong unit. The picture I stole from the web shows the wrong end of the spring but you get the idea.

I had thought of doing exactly that. This is another example of what you are talking about (I think):
I did not go that route because I am still focused on keeping the truck as low as possible. Going that route would have added the height of the crossmember to the suspension and that's not what I wanted. My setup keeps the mounting locations at, if not above, the stock locations.

Sort of. In addition to that idea raising your ride it also gives the rocks something new to find. Rather than passing a cross member under the frame rail my thought was along these lines. But the more I think of it the more i dislike what challenges that raises for winch mounting and future bumber design.

I see what you're saying. I'm going to do something almost exactly like that. I really like these outboard brackets from RuffStuff because it makes it easy to create a strong location for a perch. I'll tie the front portions of the frame together with some steel I'm picking up this week, kinda like this.
The first picture below is from before I repositioned my shackle hangers the second time, but the crossmember will look nearly the same.
Here's my take on it. As you know I'm all about cutting of the tips of those brackets. I don't see what good they are doing hanging off there anyway. I may be wrong. I probably am. Anyway, here's a couple of sketches. Maybe something to think about anyway.

I see exactly what you're talking about, but I am envisioning doing something more like this with it. Instead of the crossmember being flat, I can ramp it out and then have it look pretty slick.

Got the material yesterday and remembered that I had my recovery points from the CUCV still left. Going to see about sticking these in the mix, welded to the frame, sticking out from the front crossmember.

Like this. Thoughts? They'll be welded in place.
I think you need to figure out your bumper first and then figure out of you can incorporate them in or not. I would not myself , but would go with something out of a solid steel that could then be built around. That would be my first thing i would do.
