got the inside painted on Sunday, pretty much worked all morning and had to let it dry all afternoon... I want to flip this thing upside down now and get under the dash really well and in all the nooks that I could not get when it was laying flat. I also have to figure out how to get in the glove box and everything without getting a run... anyone know???

also after I paint (Urithane) can I or should I wet sand to get the paint more smooth? If so what grit paper should I use?

Here are some pics..

Got a new push rod in the mail today from Poser so I brought that to my engine guy... got to look at how things are coming along on that.... he has the block all cleaned up. ( he said it was really bad, that the PO probably did not change oil often) it looked great... going to be boring it out this week. Also saw the crank he has that all cleaned up, said he has to do some more grinding on that to make it good...

Wish I would have taken pics.

Stopped by the engine builders again today on my lunch hour so I could take a few pics of the block... here they are!!

sorry pics are kind of blurry but oh well... started working on the suspention today... got one of the fronts springs in and started the second one... had to quit early today.. been a long week for me...

In the morning I am heading south to see Poser, we are going to put new seals and gaskets in my tranny and trans. case... I am going to be ordering a bunch of parts and picking up some more stuff from him... should be a great time!!! I will have more pics to post when I get home!!!

Well I made it back alive from my trip down south to see Poser.... it was a great time... we changed the seals and gaskets in my tranny and transfer case.... machined out the parking brake housing to accept a double seal... added a transfer case saver (painted CAT yellow :grinpimp: ) about 4 -5 hours of work for Poser... I was the student and camera man really... not only did he have to work he had me looking over his shoulder all day saying.... "what are you doing now... why?" so I feel I learned alot

Poser posted a follow up on my original post so here you go...

https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=131996

Also picked up a bunch of parts... got all the stuff for the back brakes... just have to order the loaded calipers then I should have all the parts I need for the disk converson...

also orded the parts for the front disc. conversion (still have to go pick those up next time I am down there) also got a new clutch kit, tail lights, light on/off switch.

Ended up staying down there at Poser's place.... had a few too many to drive home.... then I had a few more!!!! :D it was a great time!!!

here are the pics to prove we did work for at least the morning!!!

now all that is left it to get it painted up... more of that to come... I know you are all sitting on the edge of your seats!!!

Ok well I felt like $hit when I left the cities... but got a few Power Aids in me and a McDonalds greasy burger and I was back on my feet by the time I got home about 1:30 PM sunday... I went out into the shop and hung my springs and got the axles in place just put everything finger tight for now. It went well!

Had a problem with my house furnace and it was -20 below so I ended up calling the repair guy when my house temp droped to 35 and pretty much ended up messing around with that for the remainder of the night...

Pics of the springs....

I worked for about 3 hours tonight sorry no pics because all I got done was changing all the shackles to the right way (which was a huge PITA BTW) . then tighten up all the bolts for the suspention. got that all done and started getting all the parts all set up for the break conversion in the rear... picked up my loaded Monti calipers at NAPA today... put a few coats of red caliper paint on them....... Guess I was not happy with what they looked like, I whiped them down really well with wax and grease remover before I started but they still had a few spots that would not hold paint.... so I will let them dry and wipe them down again and see if I can get them to hold the paint... if not well guess it is only the calipers....

on another note I just wanted to share with everyone an accident that happend today.... I had the frame up in the air and was jacking it up as high as I could so I could get under it.... well the frame slipped out from under the jack... I was very very luck that I had put a safty Jack stand in that was under the cross members so it stoped it before it could hit the ground or worse yet me, since i was about to crawl under it.... I always use jack stands and always put at least one "safety" stand in there just in case...... well this time it was worth the 1000 times I have done it in the past with no problems... Guess I was debating wether I should post this or not... since it makes me look like a dumb ass because I should not have been jacking the frame like this.... but I guess I hoped you guys would all stop and add the "safety jack" like I did on your next project...
