Yeah no problem. Might be a little bit til I can get to it, don't know if you're in a rush?Hey Ikarus, can you do me a favor and measure yoke to yoke, from the transfercase to the front and rear differentials?
That way if I want to go ahead and order from tom woods ill have some measurements to go off of.
Thanks!
Correct, didn't feel like shelling out another 3-4k for an HF1 and hubs and all that. Lol.Yeah no problem. Might be a little bit til I can get to it, don't know if you're in a rush?
I assume you're using a HF2AV transfer case?

No rush, it'll be a few weeks before im even close to getting it all put together.
So I've been curious about this step - the idea here is to hawg out the assembly at the top of the filler neck so a larger dia diesel fuel pump spout will fit?
Classy move with the diesel specific fuel cap by the way - still taking notes.
My lady asked what I'm going to do with the old engine when it's out, and I said idk I may keep it - yep, she think's I'm sick in the head. Probably true.
What, doesn't everyone have a handful of engines just floating around that they have no specific plans for?My lady asked what I'm going to do with the old engine when it's out, and I said idk I may keep it - yep, she think's I'm sick in the head. Probably true.
Hahaha, I've already started looking on Japan Car Direct again, I wont have a bunch of engines laying around, but I'll probably have a bunch of clapped out HDJ100'sWhat, doesn't everyone have a handful of engines just floating around that they have no specific plans for?
Removed the 1fz-fe gas pedal, and throttle cable. With that, i think im done taking parts off the lexus.
Debating on what to do with the 1fz engine and trans , might keep it around for a 60s series project in the future.
60 on an 80s series frame seems pretty slick.
Tempting, IF there was some double cabs left, I'd probably throw down to be honest lol.just sayin:

You will never, never, regret this decision. EVER. One item I would humbly recommend to change in your build is the stock clutch and flywheel. I went with the NPC one from HD Automotive in Australia. Granted I am running a pretty high boost set up on my 1HDFT but I was pleasantly surprised how smooth the engagement and easy the pedal pressure was. In addition, if you decide to upgrade your turbo and/or injection pump you will have a clutch that's capable of handling the extra power. If not, you have a smoother revving flywheel and a clutch that will last a very long time.Well, I went ahead and opened the check book. Should have a H152 Kit here in a few weeks, what started out as a somewhat poor mans project, has swiftly become a project that's made me entirely poor, pretty sure the wife will lock down all finances after the swap is complete. (Just kidding she's been super supportive).

I have a buddy who used to love shopping for used guitars. He'd find things all the time that were the kind of thing he didn't necessarily want, or he already had, but he'd send me links saying, "Someone should buy this."I got some amazing deals on guitars that way.
Long way of saying, if you find any deals you don't necessarily want to jump on, but someone should buy it, you can absolutely send them to me.I'm not necessarily seriously shopping for a 1HD yet, but you never know when that "too good to pass up" deal is going to come along.
