Success - The mini H1's with Morimoto bulbs and ballasts (and Luke's brackets of course) have been installed, and the light output is fantastic.
I had previously run a $40 HID kit off of ebay in the OEM projectors, and the output was not impressive, and ended up switching back to Sylvania silverstar ultras to get the best light I could out of the OEM setup, but it was still lacking for night driving on country roads.
The retrofit bracket was an easy install using this thread and luke's photos as a guide.
To remove the lenses from the housings, I ended up baking the light assembly at 240 Degrees for 20 minutes (as recommended on a few of the you tube tutorials) - at this lower temp it was easier to handle the light assemblies when they came out. After removing the clips and one screw it was easy to pry the clear lens up starting on one corner. When I reassembled the lens to the housing, I did add a new bead of the rubber sealer, then baked again at 240 deg for 20 more minutes - it was then easy to push the clear lens onto the housing compressing the rubber sealant, and then add back the 4 metal clips and screw to secure.
My only issue was getting the hi beams and low beams back into sync. I had to remove the "bridge" that connects the two adjusters several times to adjust the low beam independently from the hi beam. Once I had them in sync, I was then able to set the low beams to the proper horizontal height, and have the high beams in the proper position as well.
If you are a LX470 owner I would highly recommend getting a set of these projector brackets and installing upgraded HID projectors while these brackets are still available. You could easily spend days trying to retrofit projectors into the OEM bracket, Luke's brackets make this a 15 minute job once you have the lens off of the housing.
Quality and fit is impressive. Thanks for taking the time to engineer and produce these brackets.
