long story short 3.0 heads went (suprise!!) my 4runner has 286000 on it and the engine wasnt far behind (2nd engine due to heads issues of previous owner) I tore the 3.0 down and found to my suprise two bad head gaskets but the cylinders were in perfect shape (cross hatching is visible in the pics I am posting) so I will put it back together then sell it.
heads were cracked as well, had a second set- they needed a valve job/ new guides.

so since I have some down time I decided that I needed to do my solid axle swap and I had a naked stripped down Lexus 4.0 block to use to make my mounts as well as a a running LS400 lexus 4.0/harness and computer and tranny (a340e) I am using an inchworm adapter for the toyota prerunner (a340 as well)

I'm thinking what to do with my 4runner when I get my huge financial windfall, I'm sitting here minding my own business trying to sell Lamborghini's and my dad dies. Its OK because he left millions to some locked up "beneficiary". All I got was the rose bushes, I MEAN ROSE BUSHES! I GOT THE ROSE BUSHES, at least I got the rose bushes, and a Lincoln fireball 8 what ever the heck that is :flipoff2: My build involves Lexus paddle shifter valve body, and a LS400 V8 so I'll be watching...........................NICE :grinpimp:

:hmm: how can i get those millions?........... <click

thats pissa man can't wait to see more. hopefully you will be running longfields with that setup:D

Nice proyect dude .. which gass pump did you plan use to run with the 1UZ .. ? the factory one ?

I will be running the lexus pump and the 2 speed relay setup that the lexus uses.

Here are some teaser pics of the engine I am using, installed into the 4runner.... it fits well with about 7 inches of radiator and elec. fan room. going a tiny bit into the core support as well as it has about 1.5 inches of space between the hood and topmost part of the 1UZfe, I have a 1.5" body lift that Iam doing my best to eliminate at least 1 inch of if not the whole lift, I am using 4" springs and the spring hanger lowers it an additional 1" making for 5" of lift in the front and I am running 255/85/16s (34.5) so I really dont need the body lift

Thanks .. I have no idea that the 1UZ ( as same as 2UZ ? ) use a 2 speed realy fuel pump setup ..

engine compartment looks pretty full.

it is pretty full but it still is hosting the v6 pwr steering pump (to lazy to remove) It also has all of the v6 electronics too

I will be putting the v6 back together this week so the v8 is coming back out for about 3-4 weeks then the installl will be for good.

I am sourcing a radiator and electric cooling fan that fits my parameters ( I was able to get a bit over 5 inches of space between the engine and core supportwhen I made the final set of mounts as well as lowered the engine an additional 1.5 inches)

v6 is back together and running great, solid axle is done as well (need to build high pinion 4.88 truetrac for it still) will post pics 2nite of the solid axle set up.

the V6 goes up for sale this week so the V8 will be in and running by the end of june.

I will post some pics of the exhaust manifolds from an Sc400 they fit like a glove in with the V6 mounts

Dude one more question abut this setup .. can you offer me some ideas about how to acelerate this engine .. UZ . ?

did you use the factory skiny pedal also .. ? ( electronic thought )

k so I didnt post that night.... oops.

here are some pics of the new suspension flexing a little bit to check clearances.... yes I know I have duct tape where my diff should be but one thing at a time. the engine runs great, now its off to someone else and the v8 will be going in. next post will be some of the v8s sc400 manifolds and how well they fit over the motor mounts.

the accelerator is a cable like the trucks. so i will try to see which 1 will work for this applicatin the best.

I am also adding a 1991 factory spare tire carrier.....here are some pics

you can get the internal brackets off the donor truck but you have to cut the rear corner off of it. 1st pic is of the lower bracket that you have to trim a small portion of the lower panel (in 1st pic under bracket with masking tape on it) to fit inside, the upper braket slides in after a little grinding manipulation

2nd pic is what I trimmed and had to weld back

I'm dead .. :) in the Tundra 2UZ it's a electronic acelerator .. ( skiny pedal )
