Ok so I have searched and seen many pictures of flexed out leaf spring 40's and 55's. I have yet to see a designated picture thread with all of the various leaf spring setups, with pics of them flexing. I think this will help me (and hopefully others) make up there minds about what setup they want.

So post up a pic or several of your stock, SUA, or SOA leaf sprung cruiser flexing. Give some specs (ie springs, shocks, wheelbase, tire size, other mods) and what you like or don't like about your setup.

This is my '73 FJ40 with a Skyjacker 4" and Skyjacker shocks. Extended shackles in the rear, stock fronts, Frod shock towers, 33" Geolander MT tires (measure 32"). The ride is ok not as bad as I was expecting. the flex is great in the front and bad in the rear. I'm looking at options on fixing the rear. The fenders and wheel arches are stock so far.

You need a bigger jack. That's not even all the way flexed out.

Are you still working on it? I'd move the rear rear hangers forward and use longer shackles.

Where did you get your shackles and are the rumors of them unloading at inopportune times true?

Fast Eddy-
I like your shackle angle. Any pics of that thing flexing?

Here's when it was on stock axles and springs SOA

They were on it when I bought it but I think there still available. I'll see what I can find out. Trollhole has them on his 40 also. He has mentioned them unloading on the rear of his when going down a steep incline but I have never had any issues, difference is mine is Spring under Trollhole's 40 is Spring over. They are made from thick steel plate. Very stout. I have been really impressed with them.

Hi All:

SUA on a 100 inch wheel base. Longer springs front and rear, extended shackles in the rear as well.

Mine.....so far that is.:D
The cage wasnt secured yet, so I couldnt really crank it up.
So its SOA, 60 series springs and axles, 6 shooter knuckles and arms. WILL HAVE for towers with Doestch tech nitro pre runner shocks. Used those on my last build. The were relatively in expensive, functioned GREAT and are pretty stiff over all. I think it helps some with body roll.

Should be named "poser shot thread"... :D But I'll play!

Mix and matched LC spring packs, SOA, ARB anti-inversion greasable shackles, mx-6ucks shocks, with 36's

I am very happy with leafs, the only coils ect i'd ever use are on my FZJ80's...

Poser shot indeed! Now I can't show this thread to my buddy with a 55 or I'll lose my wheeling partner to a SOA build!

Very cool shots
