The hitch type is optional and could vary based on country even in the same region of spec (for example even amongst gcc dealers you will find spec differences)
Some without
Some pintle hook
And Some have the US style tow hitch.

It depends on the dealer order of said country.
I guess it's just an interesting idea to me that they even exist without a hitch for this class of vehicle. I thought it was basically integrated into the rear crossmember so it would be on all of them with just the variation in the mounting interface. It's hard for me to imagine a use case where the hitch wouldn't be useful for either towing, using for accessories like bike carriers, or even just for a recovery point.

Thank you VERY much for these pics ! It looks amazing in white. That 1/2 black , 1/2 color front w/the black fenders reminded me of my 2012 T4R Trail, but it did not come in white; I met a guy who did a mod of a SR5 white Stormtrooper so nice ! I was set on blue, but now thinking white ! As for round vs not round, tough one too. I like them both but decision might come to interior, because one comes with 2 and 3 raw top AC vents (Land Cruiser) and the other doesn't (1958), unless it is a First Edition in which case I am prepared to pay the premium so long it is not with market "adjustments" which will then trigger a Land Cruiser - back to not rounded. LOL.
I have the chance to watch two GX550 videos/reviews, amazing vehicle and I am almost there to buy one. The not too pushed Turbo kinda grows on me, but the lack of AC vents in the 2 and 3 row kills it for me at $80,000 because if a GX550, it will have to be the Overtrail+ 🤦‍♀️🤣. So, then I am back to a LC250.
Thank you all for sharing !

A base gcc spec prado with steelies
I'm guessing base will come with the base rectangular lights too in some dealers.

Long live the pintle hook

1. Soccer moms/dads. I know, even then, we would use it. LOL.
2. I see it as anything in manufacturing process: Less is cheaper. So, if they sell them w/o and cost less because you use less, why not?

The outgoing Lexus GX it is the same story. One would assume the hitch IS THERE. Well is not, it is an option. ;-)

Cheers !

in the GCC on vehicles without any opening on the bumper, you can still install a pintle hook as the mount points are integrated in the rear cross member, just gotta cut the bumper skin or change it to the one with pintle hook opening.

The other question would be the wiring. Do they have a preinstalled connection point or would new wiring need to be run? I've done a few and installing the actual hitch has always been the easy part.

Old school gcc spec pintle hook no wiring

The US hitch/US spec vehicles no idea if you would be able to mount on one a vehicle without it.

I read on the GX spec sheet that it's a "frame-integrated hitch".

Hard to know if they just have a single part for that rear cross member or if multiple for hitch/no-hitch.

It's in the rear crossmember like a 200 series. I'd be surprised if the crossmember design varied across markets.

alot of GCC spec Prados

I notice some of them have some sort of extra fake vent like accessory on the fender. Toyota usually makes accessories for new models for different markets and this could be just one of them. It's going to be fun comparing all the different market options on the 250. Obviously the most powerful one is going to be the US version with the hybrid power. I still can't believe the Prado looks this good.

Did you get a photo of this fake vent?

Looks to be on some in the pics above if zooming in. Wonder if it’s a diesel vs non diesel thing like the FJ60 vs HJ60, but the UK diesel didn’t have it.

**Or maybe they haven’t told us some stuff and it’s a door for the plug in charger haha**

I really like the look without any tint on the rear windows. I wish that was an option for the USA market. I know it wouldn't be very popular, but I really liked my last F250 that was a fleet model with untinted rear windows. Feels a lot more open and better visibility in low light conditions.
