I really like the 1958 fabric.

This video has not changed my mind about wanting the 1958 spec. It looks great and I was happy to see the 1958 edition doesn't have those running boards I saw on the higher trims.

FWIW, this week I got in touch with the dealerships where I'm on waitlists to see if they know anything new. The best one of them could tell me is the "release date is late spring."

Wow. That guy doesn't know much about vehicles. At least not the Land Cruisers. "The 200 was suburban size" - it's smaller than a Honda Pilot. "It has 17" rotors" - no. it has somewhere between 13 and 14" rotors. It's boxy kinda like the GX. It IS the GX. "the roof structural stamping is for head room" etc. I think almost every fact he states is wrong. Better to just watch on mute.

@mcgaskins Maybe I'm reading too much into this but those all seem roughly the same to me. Besides using the word "scripted" in my message I'm not sure where I wasn't accurate.

And not to say that Kurt isn't well-travelled, kind, and a great advocate for the community. But I hate to not be somewhat cautious and sometimes skeptical as I recognize that he has more to gain from all this hype than anyone else on here. And that's fine but I'm not ignorant to the potential conflict of interest.

It's going to be a great vehicle and far better than no US Land Cruiser but that doesn't mean that we all have to be blind brand-fanatics and shut down dissenting views and opinions or complain about what we see as misses.

Damn straight he has skin in the game. I’ll know I can buy lifts and whatnot from @cruiseroutfit if I end up buying an LC250. That is one guaranteed order for Cruiser Outfitter.

Keep up the good work Kurt.

How does that work in your market. Is it a switchable light or is it always on?
When we took our North American 100 series to Belgium, we had to install a rear facing red light to indicate when the fog lights were on. Kinda silly, but it was a requirement to get the vehicle "legal" in that country.

There was quite the inspection process as well and it was repeated yearly. The shook the vehicle to look for worn shocks and bushings, put in on rollers to ensure the brakes were working properly on all 4 corners and verified that your lights were properly pointed. Few, and I mean very few people, drive vehicles from 1999 in Europe and especially with 250K+ miles on them. Our vehicle passed with flying colors and held up exceptionally well on the crappy roads in southern Belgium.

Yup, I’m so tired of these influencers. They just influence stupidity and/or ignorance.

The only good news is that we are starting to see a bit more realistic nuggets start escaping the approved marketing echo chamber.

This is the Middle East mid grade version
So this will be the one you will most likely find at the dealer or on the streets of the GCC.
They usually import Middle grade Prados more than higher spec ones because the higher spec one overlaps with LC300 pricing
That said still expect to see first edition Prados as well over here.

I wonder if the pre-production models showing in the U.S. right now are derived from Middle East production ruruns.
No.

A base gcc spec prado with steelies
My kingdom for a 1958 edition with steel wheels in this country! Thanks for the pics, I'm glad to finally see a photo of a round headlight-ed 250 in white (which is what I'm hoping to buy this year). Do you happen to know if the GCC Prados are using the same paint colors as were announced for the LC250? In which case this would either be Icecap or Wind Chill Pearl...

Same colors but different names
This specific one I'm guessing is probably super white 040

Having seen the front end in daylight (thanks @Brown98LC !), or at least not completely glistening showroom/autoshow floor, I'm kinda torn between the round and the rectangular headlights. They both look good, but different.
+1

As a light nerd, I'm interested in any output/performance differences between the two headlight configs, if any.

Interesting to see some of those with no OEM rear hitch. Are those the 2.7L 4cyl? Or just regional market option?

The hitch type is optional and could vary based on country even in the same region of spec (for example even amongst gcc dealers you will find spec differences)
Some without
Some pintle hook
And Some have the US style tow hitch.

It depends on the dealer order of said country.
