I've searched the forums without success regarding this upgrade.
My 2016 LC 200 would benefit from better front seats, the OEM ones are terrible and without any lumbar or back support.

I did an upgrade on a 2001 Prado 95 I also own, using CELICA's Carlos Sainz edition front seats, something that turned out great and quite comfortable.
What options do I have, if someone already did it and what seats did you use?

I was going to look into having my stock seats modified by an interior/upholstery shop as I have similar complaints about my LX. Would like better lumbar support, as well as bolstering.

Scheelmann Vario seats. If on a “budget”, the Recaro Expert will have to do.

Following… the seats in my 100 are way more comfortable than my 200. Would love a better option that looked good

My EVO 9 MR is the best seats of the all the cars I have owned. My 05 LS430 seats are the worst.

I find my LC seats acceptable, but following this with interest to learn.

I have a 2014 LC. I won’t say the seats are “bad,” but they’re certainly not what I would expect from an $80,000 vehicle. Not when the seats in my wife’s 2018 4Runner just blow them away.

I recently e-mailed Scheel-Mann in Portland. Though their main website says they have something like a 16-week lead time to order seats and have them shipped from Germany, the Portland location has several models in stock I don’t think I need a “special” order above and beyond, say, the Vario II, but I won’t know for sure until I try them. And, of course, that’s the challenge: gotta drive to Portland to try em out. The person who responded said the only item that isn’t available in their U.S. HQ is a mounting bracket, which takes two weeks to source. That I can live with.

So I’m seriously thinking about making a road trip to PDX to test some seats. However, this probably won’t be happening until after the 1st of the year.

I would be interested know if anyone on the forums had Scheel-Mann seats installed in Portland and what the process was like.

I'd also love to hear about the Scheel-Mann process! I don't love the thought of losing ventilation and power seats (and saved seating positions), but I do love the thought of insanely comfortable seating...

Aren't the airbags part of the seats? I'd swap my seats in a heartbeat if I didn't have to give up the airbags...

The (black) MBS look like they have airbag tags on the lower portion of the side bolsters?

You can get airbag, heated and cooled Recaros, but they definitely aren’t cheap.

I’ve just gone for Recaro Experts in my base model 2013 (no airbags or cooling/heating to worry about) and fabbing up brackets as we speak.

Having had aftermarket seats in two Land Cruisers now, I cannot go back to the factory seat.

Having airbags doesn’t mean they’ll perform like the stock ones do as part of a system to protect the occupants.

Here is the write up on Paul May's rig (owner of Equipt) on Expo. I think the biggest challenge is the airbag sensors.

I've got Scheel-Manns in my 60. Toby @ SM is great to work with and Defenders Northwest is also a stocking dealer -- though they only carry a few variants.

Toby is conservative on his lead time estimates. My seats came from Germany but were more like 6wks from date of order.

On the 60 it was pure gain in comfort with no loss of function. Even got to add heated seats to it. Incredibly comfortable seats for me, but not sure I'd sacrifice power adjust/memory, airbags and ventilation on the 200 though.

The brackets that Toby is (re)selling? are more than likely Planted Technology 200 Series brackets. It's the brand my 60 seats are mounted to, but I ordered direct and not through SM. They have a SM bolt pattern option when ordering.

I thought my answer was to up grade to newer model seats. I have a 2008 with 232k miles LC. After 4 hrs I have to pull over. My lower back kills me. Also looking for a better solution.
