Thought I would test my cooling system this week since it is record heat. I even installed my 2.8" S/C pulley just to really tease my temperature gauge. In rush hour traffic at 118 degrees and a/c blasting 60 degrees below ambient, I was running 212 max, often a little less. Quite acceptable in my book. What are you guys whining about?

I'm still at 3.2 pulley and it's currently 110° and climbing. I haven't hit any rush hour traffic this afternoon yet but I've yet to hit my max yesterday of 196. Hovering between 192/194. Heavy traffic could throw a wrench in the works I'm sure. But if so I'll just throw it in N and let it idle at 1500rpm to get more airflow.

Yup. 198 on the scan gauge at 91 degrees in Denver on the highway just me and the dog, no gear. Need that Orange in my life ;)

Alright folks, we are going to get the ball rolling on another batch of orange hub fan clutches. Not taking orders yet but I want to start compiling the list for those that are willing to plunk down the coin to get their hot little hands on one. We need to get a fairly accurate final count on these. I may be willing to MAYBE carry one or two extra for stock but they aren't cheap so we'll see how many are willing to step up...

I'm in for one.

How much, and N/A guys see any benefit from this over a blue hub?

My Eaton clutch is really lazy even with 20k fluid.

The main reason for this clutch is to position the fan mounting plane so that a spacer is not required to provide blower drive belt clearance and to retain the use of the stock fan blade.

mine runs about ten to 15 degrees lower with the orange fan clutch, I attribute this to getting rid of the 3fe fan blade and going back to an oem stock fan blade which fits very tight on the shroud thus pulling more air.......

I'm in. Time line and cost we you know. Thanks

Would also like to talk offline after about on board air. Love that mounting bracket for the spare tire area with the tank. Cheers

Yessir, put me in line for a 2nd! Love spare parts for "What-If" Scenarios...

My tuning for the Orange hub is exactly the same as my tuning for the blue hub. As Dan has indicated the use of the OEM fan blade assembly in conjunction with the tuning of the clutch is where the gains come from.

And my tuning is more than a dump and fill and is done with an effort to provide a clutch that will perform equally well in all situations regardless of location and environment demands.

I've found an immediate source for 8 clutches with a 2 week delivery time. I would then have to tune them and send them to my machinist to have the hubs machined, then on to Joey.

Best case 1 month delivery from ordering. But there is plenty of opportunity in the logistics for delays.

If we are going to do this we need to move this along and not drag it out for everyone's sake.

As the originator of this thread I would like to update my impressions:

I have now had this clutch on the truck for just over 2 and 1/2 years. I don't commute in the truck like I used to as I have traveled just 10,500 miles in this time period. It can be argued that something that sits can deteriorate just like something that is used a lot. When it gets out now it is going long distance, often pulling a Kimberley Kamper or a 19 foot Chaparral I/O boat. My clutch is doing just fine, thank you Rick.
