I also added the felt tape on the edges of the top panels and the side wings to eliminate any wood-wood squeaking. The tape is super thin so it doesn't add hardly any thickness to the gaps.

@Ayune great suggestion on the felt tape! I've got to say though, my set isn't squeaking at all even after all this time, was the top perhaps a bit loose? If the screws aren't threadlocked they will definitely loosen over time and then maybe squeak... With the hinged wings though I know that happens and I'll add your tape to the customization page of the website, thanks for sharing!

Yea, some of the squeaking was definitely related to the hinges.

@Marleyboard how are you securing that mat on the drawer and the tailgate?
It isn’t. Top mat stays put on its own. Cut out a shop type mat from Lowe’s. It was a little pricey, 60 bucks, but the bottom rubber is muck grippier than the cheaper ones. Had it on two trips now, doesn’t really move. Was gonna secure it with glue but works so well I like the idea of being able to remove and shake out as I have two golden retrievers. The other piece is extra I move to the tailgate when getting on it. I have been leaving it on top the other mat for now.

I bought a set of drawers back in January but only now getting a chance to install. Everything from the quality of the design itself to the parts, the instructions, is top notch! One question I did have for @cruzerDave is , do you recommend painting the drawer pieces, individually or after assembling into a drawer?

What size should I buy for the top rubber mat? According to drawer spec "Top: 59"W x 42"D", 4'x5' should suffice. But looking at recommendations here: Land Shark Outfitters
  • Rubber Mat: 1/8x48x60"
  • PVC Flooring: 2.5mm (1/8") x4' x 6'
A bit confused, should 4'x5' suffice to cover the wings as well? There's now about $12 difference between the 5' and 6' so if 5' would work I'd want to save a bit.

The actual size of my KISS Drawers' top surface is 42" x 59" including the wings. I have the non-rear AC version of the drawers if that matters.

I only saw the 48"x72" mat at Lowe's last night and bought it. Gonna install today. Also, I installed 3/4"x3/4" clear edging from TAP Plastics to protect the rear edge. Had to trim the bottom to keep it from interfering with the drawers, but I'll tuck the mat underneath it and screw it down, so turns out the trimming wasn't necessary.

Thanks. I ordered the rear-AC version, so they might be a bit different. I guess I'll wait for it to be delivered, and then measure and order the mat.

@bozncsurf , I didn't notice any loss in height after adding the drawers. I think they weigh around 104 lbs, which is relatively light compared to others on the market.

Just put the drawers together tonight. Excellent instructions, but I'd suggest to add in the 1st page "Make sure there's enough cold beer in the refrig before you start!"

what's the measure of the center piece? Trying to figure out carpet sizing to buy. a lot of it is 72x36 or something. like this https://amzn.to/2Jizy3y

another seller was out of stock but i feel like it'd be the perfect amount https://amzn.to/2Jj0gJn
I'm only looking to cover the top surface in carpet. I'll do something else for the inside of the drawer

what search terms do you use for lowes?

The center section only, without the wings, is 42-3/4" wide x 42" deep.

Lowes 72"x48" mat is here: Shop Mohawk Home Utility Bay Black Rectangular Door Mat (Common: 4-ft x 6-ft; Actual: 72-in x 48-in) at Lowes.com

If you select the smaller 60" wide version, the available length goes down to 36", so you kinda need the larger one regardless.
