2 steps forward, 1 step back.

Installed the center and rear rock lights tonight, and then remembered where the exhaust might go. Damnit. Gotta move 'em.

Rock lights are Gay.

You need one (if at all) on your driver side rocker.

You can't see anywhere else.......

;)

Tell the spotters to bring their own damn lights... :D

Maybe YOU can't see anywhere else half-pint :flipoff2:, but I purposely left alot of open space between things, and I can see everywhere those lights are except for in front of the RF tire. It's neat to look down & back and see what your driveshaft is hung up on.. (Not that it'll be an issue anymore)

Since there's no way to get an axle strap around the tube on my axles (especially the front), I added these tie-down points. old u-bolts are good for something!

And, the proportioning valve & line lock, just under the seat.

Off to get driveshafts and exhaust Friday & Saturday!

Got the coilovers charged, holy hell, it raised the rig well over an inch.. Definitely gonna swap out the springs.

Exhaust & drivelines are done, and it now drives! And man, does it drive TOTALLY different than before. The power is great, the steering is good, though I was hoping for a little more speed, but it's just a totally different feeling... Gonna take some getting used to for sure. Oh, and it lights up the 42's easily.. :huggy:
A few pictures of the exhaust work.. a VERY complex system, to be sure, especially up front. The sound is fawking GREAT though.. Deep, rumbly, and nice and agressive when you get on it. Not *too* loud, but you know it's there.
2.25" pipes through 2 Hushpower II mufflers (17" case), into a 3" collector, then out a :bling:stainless steel tip that they had basically installed before I even knew what was up, but it actually looks pretty good in person, IMO.
The hushpowers are nice because they're double-walled, so they don't radiate nearly as much heat as a regular muffler. I am going to be wrapping the pipes this week where they go under the floor, and also under the cooler.

This video can't even begin to describe the nice sound.. my digi cam sucks at video. Right-click, save as...

The brakes are getting bedded in - they need more bleeding as it feels like there's still air in the lines (no surprise), but they feel very well balanced, and powerful. Now I know what the guys are talking about with the pinion brakes and the chattering noises.. annoying.

Damn ! this engine sound good ..

How much rpm you set in the injection cut . ?

By the way.. 6000 on the nose is what the memory tach said after the burnout.. :grinpimp:

PS: big boys .. big toys and are playing around there :D

Need video!!!!!!:flipoff2:

I know, I know..

I'm heading to the "Devil's Playground" this weekend (was in Crawl a few months ago "Crawling the Triad"), and there's an obstacle called "full throttle" and it's named that for a reason.

I'll try and get some video. 4wd burnouts into the top of second gear are so much cooler than a 2wd one that just barely goes into second gear.

My wife helped me bleed the brakes again tonight... I didn't see any bubbles, but the pedal feels better.. I hope it works. I didn't have nearly as much brake as I should have.

This is my favorite thread. The engineering that went into this is amazing. Every cruiser conversation in the past 3 months had somone saying " keeping it low with Rockwells" Nice job, very nice job. Wish you would come out to Tellico for OTMT in two weeks.

...The engineering that went into this is amazing. ...

x2, I kinda laughed to myself a page or so back when he said

...and I also disassembled the front coilovers to add a 90° fitting to the reservoir hose.. My first time tearing into a set.. Kinda nerve-racking! ...

seeing the scope of this build, I wouldn't think the nerves are still rack-able!

Awesome build! I didnt even know it existed! Glad I found it and I am glad youre getting that thing going!

Oh and you made my get my password again. Its been awhile. About 4 yrs since I have been back here
