Thanks guys. Definitely not planning on 70 but 65 on the freeway feels like I’m about to explode so I think a slight drop in RPM’s will be nice but we’ll see.

Also expecting some loss of grunt. For me though I’m up for the trade off. And I can always go back!

Looking good Dom!

Haven’t driven the 45 in months and honestly haven’t started it either.

Today I gave it a quick rinse. First one in maybe 2 years?! With plans to put a generic car cover over it to see how it fits.

Really need to put some kind of clear coat on this or all the paint is going to be gone.

Well first there’s no rust on this truck...

Right.

So anyway... one of my big concerns is that the paint wipes off like chalk in certain spots. If I wiped it on I think the whole hood would be down to the primer. Now it shows fingerprints any time I lift the hood. Not sure any kind of clear coat would stick anyway?

I’m really just trying to slow it all down. Someday I may pull it all apart and make it super nice but I prefer the farm truck look.

Two words: rattle can.

The ‘milk’ comes out every time I wash the lwb. I think I shot the last round of rattle can for Marv Specter’s memorial, which is going on five years.

The spots of ‘fresh’ paint only show a little while. But if you stick to your regular wash cycle, it will blend reasonably well with the patina within a few months.

Thats been my MO for 25 years now. :)

You could also buff and wax the paint. Rat rodders do it to remove the chalk/dead paint and it seals the rust for as long as the wax lasts.

Nice to see the glass in the visible pump. To buy a new one would set you back a bit! Even the acrylic ones are spendy!

Hey, Dom,

When one of us drives on down and pulls in, will an attendant come out to pump our gas and check the oil and wash the windows, or is that asking too much ?!

Well.... I have been sharing a few pics with some contractor buddies of mine. Would love to do something like this next to the garage....

Luckily my wife is much more sensible than me which means all the money won’t be gone and I will get to retire. So service station is on hold.

Ha ha.
