Got the front (no pic:eek:) and rear bumpers on. Looks like something is missing? Thinking Trail Grapplers in 315, maybe Murf can help?

Tools, what do you think of the water pump, they look slightly different in the castings - a knock off or at least made in a different production line? Curious....

I think those 80 wheels will look really cool on Jim's new ride - I'm calling him back right now on some Trail Grapplers :steer:

Don't know, it's just one data point? Agree, at least a different mold, production line?

, let us know when to drop off the wheels.

Nope, not that I know of, but if there is enough interest, could recreate for the cameras? Not a big deal, bumped a 2.5" curb in the parking lot, but looks to be one of those things that I will never live down?:hillbilly:

it was the fact that it was prefaced by "I had forgotten how much fun it is to drive a 40 . . . " :steer: ;p

I finally got to see the new beast! Inkpot and Tools came by today to get the new shoes put on the 80 wheels.

ILl have to say I am very impressed with how the injected engine runs - hard to imagine you could put your hand on the hood of a 40 and not feel the engine running :D

I like the touches from the 62 sereis air box, intake hose, battery box, etc

 sounds throaty too

Hey Murf, found Los Dos Molinos, just on the other side of the caddy store, N side of Camelback, it's the stuff!

Cool, I didnt even know they had a location over here, Ill have to go visit...

Im sure Carl was in heaven - that man has asbestos in his innards!

Los Dos Molinos is great stuff. Lorna and I hit them every chance we get.

The new location has only been open 3 weeks and, needless to say, they are keeping busy.

They are the closest thing to the food I grew up on in NM.

Jim and lexycrzy have issues with the "meep" hairlip sounding stock horns. We made a pick & pull run so harvested some samples for comparison. First, I would like to share details, really I would, but others here invade our little collection of wrecks and have been known to beat us to the good stuff. So, some discretion is required to ensure that the assets fall into the correct hands, ours!:hillbilly:

Most vehicles have similar, somewhat generic horns, within their manufacture groups, domestic, Asian, etc. Most are weak or cheap sounding or both. Some have different/better horns. Found a couple that stand out from the crowd and one that has a great combination of FREAKING loud, with a commanding/authoritative tone. Unfortunately they are somewhat rare, so have to protect the source!:hillbilly:

Long winded way of saying, horn upgrades are underway. Also scored the last clips and replacement plugs for Root Beer.

I heard the horns - I approve the loudest :hillbilly: too bad it came from a  :bang:

My ears are still ringing from the "horn test" on Thursday. The americans sure know how to make horns that make you get the heck out of the way and say WTF!

Caddilac horns are extremly loud from the nineties, and I'm site there's plenty of then in the junk yard. My first car was a mid 90s caddy in 01 and that horn sounded like a train.
