Great pics of the LCs in Afghanistan. Thanks!

I really like how you're building this truck.

Yes, the 255/85s fit fine on the stock (16x8) wheels. Less sidewall bulge than I'd prefer personally, but no performance issues. I can air down if I need more bulge:)

The factory steelies are da bomb, but your alloys came out real nice with the paint. Our alloys were in just too rough a shape for me to do that, but I did recycle a pair onto our M101 CDN.

Your son looks like he's just the right size to help with fitting that snorkel -- long skinny arms to reach inside the fender! It's good that he gets to help, because that's how you get comfortable and learn about wrenching.

Good luck with things. Looking forward to see where it goes from here now that the basics are done.

Could you post some pics of the door sills? I'm planning on lining mine as well and I'm not sure where I will take the liner too.

Nice!

That looks great! Any details on how you applied it like the kind of rollers and how you got the color? Were did you get the Al's Liner?

I'm so close to doing this with my LX 450 Tan top like you and then the LX flairs in Olive Drab.

I used the semi-smooth 3/8" rollers from home depot (3" wide). Plutonius advised only mixing a quart at a time which worked out well, since it starts to cure after 20 minutes or so. I applied two coats within a couple hours of each other. The tan is a stock Al's Liner color and they say you can tint for other colors. My biggest lesson learned is once it starts to get a little thick, abandon the batch and mix a new one. I have a few spots that are thicker than others because I kept going when I should have stopped. I also used the flattener material from Al's to keep the finish smoother and not as shiny.

I bought mine from 4 wheel parts, but Al's also has an ebay store and Hefty Fabworks sells it too.

I want to black my wheels too. Any references to your procedure?

I roughed them up using a craftsman sandblaster, wiped them down with acetone, then used rustoleum automobile primer, followed by three coats of rustoleum satin black spray paint: RustOleum.com

ARB test fit

Couldn't wait for the winch so we threw the bumper up early...complete with Mazar-e Sharif license plate. and a side shot...

Nice work! Where did you get your ARB roof rack?

It is the ARB touring rack. I ordered it from Redeem (screen name Hwy22). He is the owner of Teton Adventure Gear Teton Adventure Gear HQ - Home.

He is also starting a business that rents out outfitted Land Cruisers in Wyoming for adventure travel.
