One of the threads on this was asking for Windows xp. Cleaning out the basement and found this! Key and everything. PM me whoever it was that mentioned it.

Unreal, this post is 2 years old and still worked like a charm. I had absolutely no idea how to go about getting / setting up Techstream, figured someone on IH8Mud had something, because this site is amazing, and sure enough I find this post. Seriously, in less than 5 minutes, up and running, though I am waiting on a cable now. But instructions couldn't have been any easier, followed them and Techstream fired up first try using my MB Pro. The only deviation from OP's steps was I did have to use a latest version of VirtualBox, had to use 6.x because of an extension incompatibility with this version of OS X I guess, but that's the only thing I did different, and everything worked as @getco described. Couldn't be more stoked. Simply awesome, thanks @getco ! Honestly not sure how he could have made it any easier without just coming to your house and doing it for you. /InsertEasyButtonHere

Is anyone successfully running TS on the Mac OS using Windows 10 on VitualBox?
Yes... there was a couple of Mac users a few pages back.

After a few months, I just fired up the same virtualBox instance, but TS wanted a new serial number. Pasting the original back in didn't work, so I simply reloaded/reimported the original virtualBox image with TS installed, it took a minute or two, and then I was right back in business!

You have to know just a little about making computer stuff work for this solution, but it's great that it works and damned helpful. Major props to @getco !!

I am trying to get this set up on my macbook pro running Catalina. I have downloaded VirtualBox and the Techstream Image, but I am getting this error:

Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)

Make sure the kernel module has been loaded successfully.

where: suplibOsInit what: 3 VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED (-1908) - The support driver is not installed. On linux, open returned ENOENT.

What else do I need to install and how to get this working? I would really like to get this working to see if I can program my own keys instead of paying the dealer to do it. Much appreciated!

Did you install VirtualBox 6.1?
Ah I think I got it working now. I first downloaded the 5.x version and it would work, then I downloaded the 6.x version and was still having issues. To me it appears since I had an older version it would not let me install the new version without Uninstalling the old version. After I finally got the old version Uninstalled I am now able to open everything and techstream is opening on virtual box. Now I just need to get the cable and hook everything up. Hopefully it will all work fine then.

On a side note since I have not gotten an answer on my other thread, will I be able to delete old lost keys and program new keys to be fully functional with techstream? (This is my goal with techstream as to save some cash on paying the dealer to do this, my local ace could not get any keys programmed, I'm guessing because I have too many keys registered at the moment. New vehicle for me that I only recieved 1 key for)

TechStream will let you delete all the transponder keys (as long as you have a master) and all the wireless remotes then program new ones. A total of 4 keys . Did this for mine after i used this thread to get techstream, po lost 2 keys before selling only had one master left

Which cable do guys with GX 460 use? the link for the cable in the first post no longer works. I have the software installed but i need to get the correct cable for a 2011 GX 460. Thanks

OBDII diagnostic cable

An OBDII port is an OBDII port; there is no specific cable for a specific vehicle.

Does anyone want to sell an old portable computer with Techstream already installed?

I don't care how slow the computer is because I will only be using it for Techstream, so you can upgrade to a faster computer.

I installed on Vmware and techstream works perfectly - windows 7 32 bit. If someone need help contact me.
But I have another problem.
I own Yaris 2012 and have workibg Techstream sw and cable at my home. Rear bumper was painted in August in repair shop and after that I have a problem with sensors. They sometimes work normally but sometimes continious beep... There is some excessive lacqueer drop on two sensors. Do you maybe know how to test park sensors with techstream?

I am going to keep re-reading this - feel like an idiot. Tried to install with no luck and I have no idea what virtual box is or why I need it.
Guess I am getting old! 😁

You need virtual box to run the image of windows XP. Think of the virtual box like a vcr and the image as the cassette. The VB need to installed and run first and then open the image you downloaded.

So follow the original post and it should work. If not ping back we will help.

So do I NEED virtual box for this to work? If I have an old Asus computer with Windows 10, can I just download the program and driver to it without VB?
