Using VB, I thought all of the MVCI stuff was kind of taken care of? Also, YouTube videos because most of this deal with installing this software with the VB.
Is my assumption wrong, do I need to hook up and install the cable software separately?
thanks for the feedback!
I'm pretty certain I'm looking in the right place, the body section as you said before. The videos I did see weren't lx470 specific but im sure its in the same place across vehicles. It seems I am lacking some options all around, not just the key fob programming.
I uninstalled the driver and was going to start over, then got the following:Nope, no separate software, you're in the right spot. before launching VB, plug the USB into your computer and make sure it can see it in the device manager. once you confirm it can be seen by your system, launch VB and try accessing the firmware update tool from the desktop. keep messing with the cable, somtimes it can be seen sometimes it needs to be cycled a few times before the VB recognizes the USB.
hmmm.. upload some screen shots
i used this video /\
this one was helpful to and shows the "utility" menu you need
Here is a photo of what I'm seeing. Don't seem to have any options. Looking under theYou may need to have it connect to the OBD2 first then it will allow connection by selecting connect to vehicle. Look under the Function tab then select to OBD2. Once it connects there you can go back to the main screen and select connect to vehicle. This has worked for me when getting the can not connect to vim message. Here is a photo of what I'm seeing. Don't seem to have any options. Looking under the immobilizer section it appears I am able to program new transponders, but not what I'm needing to do. Any ideas? As a side note the cable firmware update tool in VB shows my cable is version 1.4.1, not sure if that matters but it won't let me upgrade anything anyway.
I also installed TS on my parents windows 10 machine using the stuff that came with my cable to see if I could get it to work. Everything seems to install properly. Its TS version 15, but it won't connect to the vehicle.

Sorry brother I was responding to Lenny's post above but somehow got attached to your post. Good luck with your issue.I just got it to work on the windows computer, I had to change the VIM settings to my cable instead if the TIS one. But even with the other computer I still don't have any options under body to program the wireless remotes. Connects to vehicle fine otherwise, although some other options may be missing as I don't know what all I should have available but its connecting to the different ECUs.
Thanks for this link, I downloaded the oldest version they had there, 10 something, and I still don't have the option to program the remote fob. Not sure where to go from here, maybe a different firmware version for the cable?I've only ever used V12 on my 460... there have been deprecated options on that model for things like key programming on newer versions... VM in this thread is older but here are other versions for download as well
What file is infected or fails
The proper way meaning, not a copyrighted file found on eBay or Amazon?Ok. Try it the proper way next time and if it fails on an individual file, post up which one (like a .inf file, not a .cab file or similar)
