They come with the filter. Copper crush gaskets.

Pffttt to much work, I did this, because no fuel pump either

Did you guys follow torque specs per the FSM here on this change? I don't have one in my collection yet and I'm worried about applying too much or not enough torque on the union bolt and flare nuts.

I just do tight as I can with 3/8 wratchet.

I don't recall using a torque wrench on the fuel filter when I did mine. With that said it doesn't have to be super tight since the crush washers are doing the sealing. Torque specs in yellow (1994 FSM).

There is a torque spec but even with new banjo bolt, crush washer and filter it still leaked. Soooo Gutentite!

Would be a great time to do the upper oil pan reseal. Having that pan out of the way would improve access.

I just did this before last weekend's wheeling trip. I had to really crank on the Banjo bolts to stop the leaking, weird! Having to slot the inboard hole on the filter really did help out a ton with this project. Additionally, I loosened the two bolts that secure the ATF dipstick. Having the dipstick able to move around as you work in that area made for easy work. I was afraid of creating a spark due to the started +12vdc being right there, I ended up disconnecting the batt as well.

I second the slot method. Even having my upper intake manifold off it was still hard to get the engine side bolt threaded while trying to hold the filter in place with my other hand. Even if I threaded the other bolt... there is just not enough room to maneuver in there. I didnt have my wheel off.

I slotted mine quickly with a pair of tin snips. Cut right through it.

I just replaced all my vacuum lines and my vsv and this was one of those "while your in there may as well" PM tasks.

This thread helped me out a lot!

Oh and my truck has been sitting for about a month. I loostened the gas cap prior to and barely dripped enough fuel to make a mark on my driveway.

Thank you all for all the information and tips on how to do this. I was able to finish it in 1.5 hours.

I'm going to order a new filter while tackling my P0401 but need the PN for those 4(non reusable gaskets). Can anyone tell me the part number for those little guys?

I included a picture for reference.

Generally, your filter should come with the needed 4 gaskets. However, this number works for extras: 90430-T0003
