How many daily drivers out there?

If gas costs are not an issue, these are amazing daily drivers.

I got an 04 LS430 for a daily use vehicle simple because I don't need that much car to get to work and back. Even the LS is a huge tank that's way more car anyone needs to get to work but it does get like double the MPG over the LX and is just easier to maneuver around.

Daily driven by me for years. Bought it ~4 years ago, I think, and have put on about 70k miles in that time. It gets me to work (40 mile trip now, was closer to 70 when I lived in AZ) and has taken my wife and I on some awesome mountain adventures and cross country treks. I've used it to tow a U-Haul trailer (with admittedly too much weight) , towed my 91 Supra on a big trailer from Sacramento to Phoenix in a spur of the moment purchase and a few other towing and utility purposes.

It's been a fantastic car for me and I wish I could convince my wife to buy a newer LX to DD for herself (she thinks it's too big). I average around 14-15 mpg when using premium fuel. MPG drops by an MPG or two with regular fuel. I use some 33" tires in the summer with stock size snow tires in the winter.

It's not economical, but it's a safe, reliable and comfortable vehicle to drive daily. With good tires you'll have minimal road noise - and yes, that includes BFG ATs.

Mine is a dd, and I drive about 15mi. a day. I have used it as my dd for the past three years. No major issues to report.

My wife's dd and our long distance trip vehicle. We probably average ~10-15K/yr depending on how many long distance trip we do in a year.

My 2000 LC is a Dad. 161k miles. 70 miles miles daily. WAs just commenting to my wife this weekend how the car runs and drives perfectly. NO car payment is the best. In a few years will look for a nicely used 200

I DD 45 miles per day. '98 LC with 286k miles. I carry a spare coil pack, small tool kit, and that's pretty much it.

285/75 R16 BFG A/T KO2s and Trail Tailor front recovery points are the only real mods I've needed to tackle the trails around me, but I plan to install a hidden winch behind the factory bumper soon.

DD mine around 500+ miles a week. almost 200K now and its running like the day i bought it. Gas is not an issue 20$ to fill it up in KSA. :bounce2:

30 mpd for me. 2003 w/ 189k miles. Mine was never intended to be a DD but my wife changed jobs recently and we an no longer carpool. Even at $25 a week in gas, it's cheaper than a car payment.

How many miles out of a tank do you normally get until the light comes on? I sometimes dd mine, a week at a time but it pretty costly in the uk, 400miles a week I travel and that would be just over £100 ($135). My corolla takes nearly £60 mind so not to bad. I am getting 20mpg(UK gallon), not sure how that translates to US gallon. I never worry about reliability or age, I would try and use it every day but I keep a second car due to parking. I work all over, so parking can be a issue if you don’t know the area for parking as you don’t get much bigger than a 100 on our roads and it just doesn’t fit in some(most) spaces.

I DD my 04 about 45 miles a day - fill up about once a week (every 7 or 8 days) and usually get about 340 miles/tank. I run 275/65/18 Continental Terrain Contacts. I look forward to getting in it every morning. Great trucks.

Mine is also my DD. I commute roughly 20-25 miles a day to and from work, mostly highway and it's been rock solid. Those who drive these and are worried about fuel economy are driving the wrong vehicle!

Mine doesn't really have any mods albeit it does have LT275/70/18 Cooper ST Maxx tires and an upgraded exhaust, but that's really it, apart from some other minor things.

Daily driven, bone stock, stock size tires, and seem to do a tank of fuel (300ish miles) every week or so. We bought our '99 LX at 215k 1.5 years ago. Has 240k now. We take it on 2,000 mile trips every 4-6 months and never think twice about it.

My wife DDs her ‘01 LX with 291k miles about 40 miles per day. Averages about 15k miles per year on it and is the family road trip vehicle. Only issue we’ve had was a bad coil pack on cylinder 5, other than that it’s been solid for the 2 years we’ve owned it.

I just got mine less than a month ago and have taken it to work a quite a few times. So not quite a dd, but it does get used. I also have an E300 that I got a few months back and as much as I don't like to admit it, the E300 is MUCH better in the snow commute. I will use the Cruiser more as a DD in the Summer. Because I work in the mountains so I will be able to go off roading before or after work. The truck I bought has a Long Range fuel tank so it holds 42 gal. Ha ha it also has a supercharger so it likes premium. I offset fuel costs by using fuel points at King Soupers (Kroger). I just buy gift cards when they have 4x fuel points so I save $1 a gal on 35 gallons. I figure that I average about 13.5 MPG normally, but because I can hyper mile my commute I can get up to 15 MPG!

Wife daily drives our 98 with 220k miles. We've taken it on all our vacations and adventures since we got it a year and a half ago. Almost 50k miles in that time. The range is the worst part. My DD beater GS300 gets 4-450 miles a tank on less fuel vs 250-300 for the LX.

My 99 is my DD, unless it is nice enough for me to drive the Jeep with no top/doors. Average commute is about 35 miles but I am on the road a lot for my job and do many 2-300 mile days throughout the year. Turned over 287k miles a week ago. I don't calculate my fuel economy regularly but I know the cruiser usually gets 14mpg.

My wife has a low mileage 2012 GMC Acadia and has commented that she prefers driving the cruiser. Time for a second one?

Haha that looks exactly like my LS. Even same color and wheels. I made sure to go down south to get it as all the IL ones were rotted underneath. Fluid Filmed and Amsoil HDMP the hell out of it before the winter!
