Stick with the cruiser.
We did the Baja with 4 little dudes without a trailer:
(waiting to board a ferry across the Sea of Cortez)
And later a Covid NW loop to Mt Rushmore and down the Pacific Coast with a trailer.
(Mt St Helen’s, WA)...
(yes that is a bucket hat on the snorkel) :D
3 generations in a hunjy - a trip to Cape York in 2016. The 100 series is a fine daily driver, it fits a family, and...
...gets you to places like Eliot Falls that only a proper 4WD can take you to.
I believe that as the tires wear, only the percentage left is visible on the tread. The tire is really quiet - the center tread lug pattern is random and helps keep it from resonating/humming (still need to research more about how it really...
The original Outpost AT was replaced with the nAT (North American version). They are not in their system yet and had to special order them. If you google Outpost nAT, you’ll find specs on their site. Another mud member has started a thread on...
I've been running the TOYO AT3 LT275/65R18 since July of 2021. I have almost 25k miles on them and they are still going strong. Just looking at them, I'd guess I have another 25k miles to go! They've been great on the highway since I have to put...
Toyo and Nitto are sister companies and use pretty much similar if not the same resin and raw materials. My previous set was Falken AT3Ws load E and they were great, tread wear is by far the best compared to my previous and current Nitto Ridge...
Unfortunately I don’t have experience with either, that said I have Cooper AT3 XLT’s on my 80 and they’ve been fantastic. It’s a DD that I wheel pretty hard a couple times a year and the Coopers are dead quiet, round and have taken some...
I just came from a set of Toyo Open Country AT3s, P 265/70r18s. Your use is very similar to mine, occasional off the pavement, but mostly road use - lots of family road trips. I found the Toyos had a noticeable hum from day one, not too bad, but...
I’ve see a lot of mixed reviews over the years for kingschariot. The reviews didn’t stop me from buying a low mileage 07 a couple months back. I wanted to say that @mario65 was not bad to deal with and I felt we had a good relationship over the...
@Couvi, those look great! Don't know what you're saying about posting better pics. :) Glad you're enjoying them and can't wait to hear the longer-term impressions.
@shortribs, thanks for that additional link from Tyre Reviews. Very glad we are...
Congrats on the new shoes.
No question, a heavier E-load will be a must for others, but I've been impressed by the standard load's compliant and quiet ride on road.
YT reviewer Tyre Reviews just installed a set (link here) in LT265/65R18 and...
Thanks guys. I'm really surprised at how quiet these are – my last set of tires (Toyo AT3s) hummed right out the gate and these are so quiet especially considering the size and depth of the lugs.
I had the same issue and it ended up being a bad gateway ECU. This was over 2 years ago, there’s a thread somewhere on here with info. I had the “Check connection to the AC” message and no physical buttons worked.
Agreed as well. Just wait til you need advice in a real time challenge. Mudders seem to always show up. There are certainly many selfless, friendly, willing and giving smarty britches mudders on this forum. And those positive attributes shine all...
