So what did you tell them??
We talked about being the age where taking care of aging parents, loosing said parents and dealing with lifetime house contents…a surprising number of us are in the same spot in life.

But I’m still excited every time I open the shop door, and am still working on it, just not quickly.

Scored an excellent ‘75 hood yesterday, doors, a tailgate… with the original chrome handle and surround in place (I’ll be offering it for $1,000,000 in the classifieds… dm me now if you’re interested… :flipoff2: ) and lots of other bits and pieces.

Nothing good left on the parts rigs that I was pulling from…

There’s a second pig tucked in behind the one pictured.

Looks like another rotten pig getting ready to go to scrap.
Fewer and fewer every year…
Yeah, it’s a bummer. The floor in the red/white on was almost completely gone; but some decided to bridge the gaps (I mean like 2ft wide holes) with fiberglass…

Those poor Pigs are junk. But, glad that I could save what was left.

Looking for a top right roof/windshield corner cut if any of those are still good?
I’ll likely be back there soon to pull parts for a different project. I’ll have a look for you (but, don’t get your hopes up… they are mighty rusty).

@Old Nick Does either pig have a 70-71 carburetor and choke cable with knob? Also, how are the driver and passenger rear quarter panel red clearance lights (entire light assembly)? Not the rear tail lights but the ones on the rear quarter panels...thanks!

Neither had the carb or cable left. The lights were toast too... I was hoping to pull them. Sorry.

Bob - that chair looks like the style from my wife’s grandfather’s furniture factory from the 50’s/60’s. Does it have a Barnard & Simonds Co, Inc plate or sticker still on the bottom of the seat?

Yesterday we loaded up for a mid week adventure (fewer people out in the middle of the week esp. After a holiday weekend)
My land mate and i took Sara (my new girlfriend) floating down the river.
We got in at a place called Jellys ferry and floated all the way down to a pizza parlor in red bluff. We made multiple stops along the way to explore, swim, eat food, smoke joints...
We ate pizza and hot wings for dinner and we made it back home to Manton about sunset to put up the chickens.
Couldn't have asked for a better day.

Poured 4.5 yards of concrete this afternoon. The side that consistently gave us trouble failed and the bottom on the wall gave way. The pig and 40 came in clutch. This work just about put me in the hospital. Severe heat stroke I guess with just about every muscle in my legs and arms cramping at the same time. What an adventure. You concrete experts will have to look aside.
