When I drove my fj55 down to see Ron (pigeaten) I overtook 3 other vehicles.
Too Deer and a Massey Ferguson.
That's awesome!
I remember the first time my wife and I went to Cruise Moab (I think she was my fiancé at the time?), we were in my stock 40, probably on 29s.
Going up to Eisenhower tunnel, we kept trading places with a Geo Metro. We would pass them and feel all powerful, and then they would overtake us!!!

I’ve always been intrigued with Route 66 but even more so as I age a bit. Bristow, where we live sits on Route 66. We have an old train depot from 1923 that has been restored. The last water tower for Frisco railroad sits next to it.

Back in boomtown days, many of our older buildings housed workers and the wife and I have kicked around idea of converting one for nightly rentals to those traveling Route 66.

Just viewed building built in 1921. Upstairs needs total gutting but all the doors with transoms above still exist. Old sinks still present and we found receipts from TV, radio repair shop from late 60’s.

Has nice retail spot under with separate door for upstairs which is a must. Diner two doors down where @Pigeaten and I had breakfast.

If someone was driving Route 66 and had chance to stay night on Route 66 outside of a typical hotel, is this something you all would consider.

I’m planning on long haul, Main Street not going anywhere. Our small town close enough to Tulsa that it’s not gonna die on the vine like many others. If anything it’s only going to grow in time.

Clyde parked in front.

Yes, 100%.
Love the idea!
Pig Party '26!!!

How cool would pig party 2026 be touring good part of Route 66 on its 100th bday!

I just put offer in, low ball of course within reason but it’s a start.
It would be great!!!

But - full disclosure - your property might be decrease in value after this salty bunch stays there...

I have always wanted to do a Route 66 drive!! And of course it would be a must to stand in the corner in Winslow, AZ

Who wouldn’t want to after @scrapdaddy immortalized it “mud”.

Been there done that would do it again every time we are reasonably close!

Jon, Don’t forget to mention the Catfish Roundup close by, you know i’m in!
That’s a given Don. Hard to pass by the Catfish Roundup once you have tasted that cooking!

I’d take it another step further and make one of the rooms a Catfish theme!

I have to wish you good luck 🍀

The last water tower for Frisco railroad sits next to it. This houses our local historical society. Also where Gene Autry worked for local radio before becoming famous.
