It feels like life is a little bit of "Good Times, Bad Times" lately.

A few weeks ago the wife and I found out about a house that was going up for sale. The short version is that it checks a lot of boxes for us. So after having zero plans of moving a few weeks ago, now we are going through all the gyrations you need to go through to sell your house, buy a new house, and move.

Friday morning I got word that a good friend had passed the night before. I just saw him Tuesday and all was well. I had things I had to do so I didn't visit with him super long, I just assumed I would see him later. That was a mistake on my part. Word is that he had a heart attack. I have not lost very many people that are close to me. I have definitely been thoughtful about this over the last few days.

Thanks @RUSH55 I regret that I didn't spend a little more time catching up with him on Tuesday.

No shop on the property, but it does have a four car garage.
 
I remember when my Dad was going to a funeral almost every week of someone close to him. I'm getting to that age, too. It's hard to get a firm grip on that reality. Best wishes on selling/buying your house. What are the main buying points for the new house, schools, bigger lot, etc.?
 
Both of us are in our 70’s now and together 50 years.. I try to explain to my wife how important it is to do, say, and be anything and everything you have ever thought about as we are on the downhill side now. She has trouble seeing this… I think about it every day. We’re are both vibrant, active and very capable of doing anything a 35 yr old might do…but @PabloCruise had this happen as most of us have experienced. At least be aware

This morning she slept until 11:00am… around 10;45 I went in to check on her…she usually does not sleep this long, I am up at 5 or 6AM….who knows? She’s fine and wants me to go pick up breakfast somewhere!! Should have let her sleep til at least after lunch. I’ve had breakfast twice already
 
I didn’t post on here but we lost the MIL a few weeks ago, had been a long decline so no surprise but it still comes quick at the end, I’m not sure anyone could get used to that.

Congrats on the new house and 4 stall garage 👍🏻

Sorry to hear about your friend. A few years ago I went to 3 memorials in a month. Its never easy. I still have a hard time processing these things.

@PabloCruise sorry about your friend, hate to deal with things like that but it’s inevitable.

Congrats on house, sounds like great change for you and the wife!

Road tripped to Florida this weekend after daughter flew into Tulsa. Outside of all the cool stuff we have seen road tripping we ran across small area on small highway in the Mississippi’ delta where tornado had just been a few hours before us. 3 houses destroyed, power lines snapped and lines in the road. Sadly no emergency vehicles around. Folks sitting around what once was their homes. Debris field extended for hundreds of yards in what I’m guessing was cotton fields.

The car sure was quiet for awhile after that.

Arrived in Florida and took a few pics of kids in same spot where we were at around 13 years ago.

I absolutely love more than anything spending time like This with my kids!
