While waiting on some small parts for Bonnie so I can get her back on road I took my beloved 79 F150 to friends shop to have its tranny, rear main seal, rear differential leaks all fixed. Of course it opened Pandora’s box. This from my buddy.

HAPPPY WEDNESDAY!

Lots of progress on your truck this week.

Rear-
all bearings and seals
Posi unit
Yoke
Brake wheel cylinders and hardware
Front-
Axle seals
Axle u-joints
Wheel bearings
Ball joints
Transmission-
Serviced with new fluid and filter
(Leaking around pan)
Engine torn down to do oil pan and noticed a very worn timing chain.

Dallas (great guy who helped Delancy immensely) just called. Lots of wear on Cam, didn’t think rear main seal would work. Possibly explains the slop in timing chain.

So it looks like Orange Ford out of commission for awhile. Dallas doesn’t trust any local engine builders so gonna send it off to Jasper and have them rebuild the 351 modified inside it.

RIP temporarily…

Wow, that is quite the laundry list!

How many miles do you have on that one?

It sounds like it will be a new truck when you get her back!

I’ve driven it a few thousand miles. Who knows how many miles it truly has on it but it ran great except for the leaks after they sprung. My intentions are to share drive time with Bonnie for my commute to Tulsa.

Summer gonna be interesting and I am motivated to get some AC in Bonnie, since the truck lacks AC also.

With pig changes I am going to install the rebuilt 2f and H55 in our yellow 40. Dallas and I visited last night and I am leaning on having him install the rebuilt 3B and H55 in our BJ45 once the Ford is complete. I was thinking of the fella Don and Jim are using but then Dallas said he would do it and he is local.

Having Dallas due the swap allows us to focus on the body swap onto Delancy’s old chassis. Should make sweet winter project.

I feel like we are going to start needing a series of flow charts and diagrams to start tracking some of these sweet Pig projects!!!

Saw this at cars and coffee this AM. It had a newer Toyota motor in it!!

Tomorrow is drywall. There are 16 6” wafer LED’s for the ceiling. My son stopped by with this DeWalt laser thing to guarantee they will be set up on a perfect grid…I have done this before but walked around with a tape measure for a few hours….technology!

So it is 5 hours after the two guys started this morning.. all 5/8 Sheetrock … I spent 7-8 weeks getting ready with demo, building, wiring, etc…
They left an hour ago

Funny you say that…I told my wife last night exactly that…this project has aged me

7:30 this morning they got here and started taping…. it looks like they will be finished with the first coat before 11 AM.

I’m pressed because it has already been said…” it would have taken me hours to put up 4 sheets of drywall”. Yesterday, discounting lunch they finished a nearly 600 sq ft room and ceiling in 4 hours using 5/8” drywall. These guys are really to leave and let it dry and it’s only an hour!

I know you are 101% correct @greenbeast. I have been a long time offender though. It’s addicting and satisfying. Kind of like the guys who have obsessions with cars and trucks.😉
