Good you found this skin problem and had it addressed.

You're saying that on the way home you might disappear for a few weeks? My goodness …I know my wife 49 years, 6 months and X days. She would freak out if I tried this these days, in other words, I’d be screwed

You do have a great project going…. I follow along on these kind of efforts… I love watching it all pull together… cars, trucks, houses….All Good luck to you

My wife would said " don't hurry home on my account ". :)

Since I started detailing my extra room, here is today’s effort. The sheetrock guys showed up at 7;45 and started sanding the room. It was a whiteout. That dust got everywhere. There are two pass-thru openings to the house. One is about 6’ and the other is about 9’. Despite the tarps closing off the space, the dust was a nightmare. I’d spent an hour trying to shop-vac the floor but had to clean the filter a dozen times. Used my wife’s swiffer mop to wipe down the walls and ceiling

After that, I spent 4 hours painting a drywall primer on the walls and ceiling. Another messy job. The stuff sprays off the roller from the ceiling a of course you’re looking to to see where you are painting. Tonight my arms are sore but that shower felt great.

Tomorrow: custom cut jamb extensions for the windows, put in all of the wall switches and outlets and solder in the hot water baseboard heating strips.
It feels like I could be Christmas tree ready by the end of next week

Funny thing happened today. I’m listening to Night Ranger radio on Spotify in my office. I listen to quite the variety and young Lady who does staffs the front desk brought me some mail.

She commented on how she liked what I was listening to and proceeded to tell me her grandmother enjoys that music.

Just kinda made me feel old….even if I’m only 35 years older than her.
“My Grandmother listens to that music…”

Oh Jon, I am so sorry. I can picture you sitting there in your office, free of interruptions for a moment, you’re all like, “I’m going to rock out while I get things done, I am a productive member of society, ‘don’t tell me you love me’,” :plays the air drums with his pen:

And then the front desk lady comes in and says that. Jon just sets his pen down…

There was a woman back in the early 1970’s on WNEW-FM in NYC known as Alison Steele the Night Bird. She was on late at night and had a voice that would just permeate the room. I look back at nearly 55 years ago and it seems like it causes me to search for past times and where did all of the space in between go?
A great memory. Think of all the things that were going on while Ali Steele was on in the background…

Easy day today…cut the holes for the LED wafer lights… they are sanding down the spackle tomorrow so I’m still waiting for some of it to dry…the trick for the lights was mapping them out BEFORE the drywall went up and then following the map to make sure it was correct. As a sort of guide, I taped some blue tape in each spot to let me know that I was in the neighborhood of the electric pigtail.

Set up that laser beam again and magically, it worked.

I hope you cranked up some Zeppelin when you got out the magic laser!

Buddy just cut holes in my ceiling to install lights after sheet rock was placed months ago. Set out to call sheet rock guy who works for local small town and lives couple miles from me here in the sticks for little repair.

Super nice guy, slowest talker I’ve ever experienced but great family. Last year helped his senior with donation to take senior trip cruise and have some spending cash since it likely one of few times he will get to do anything like that.

Jump on wife’s FB looking at stuff and saw that Justin had died suddenly last week at Church, only 49. Seems like the most terrible stuff happens around the holidays.
Jinkees, 49 sounds way too young…
