This happened here with Hurricane Sandy now over a decade ago. The devastating effect of that storm gave us a 13 day run of no power and roadways closed from downed trees and wires. Our firewood reserves are just dwindling down but I usually cut and split 2 cords a yr to dry. I have a sense of humor and it was refreshing to see others did as well. This was about 7 weeks before Christmas …finally built the log splitter I had been procrastinating on for 30 years

The best part of the storm when it passes is that you all are safe

Here in Dittmer we got 9" and some are saying up to 11". Rivers are all flooded and some roads are washed out. Sad to say, but some people have lost their lives in the floods. First the drought then flash floods, what a mess.

I left work couple hours after getting there yesterday. More rain was coming and one of the roads to get to town was flooded when I left for work and when it floods it backs up the other road to leave.

Went home to make sure I could get home. Thankfully we didn’t have anymore flooding.

Hate to hear anyone losing their life for sure, sad stuff.
