SNOW!!! It's snowing giant flakes on base right now. I doubt there will be much if any accumulation here but let's hope for several inches in the Jemez. Vince, how's it looking this morning near Los Alamos?

Harry,
I will take you up on that offer. It will save me having to rig up a Yakima rack on short notice. We can come pick it up with the Tacoma on Sunday if that is OK.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

-Mike-

No problem Mike. Looking forward to seeing you again as well.

There is about 3 inches here at work. That was enough to basicly close the roads up on the hill for about an hour.

Thanks,
vince

I am really looking forward to getting out to drive in the snow! :bounce:

My brother-in-law Chris will be riding along with me. I think most of you have met him before.

The Jemez should be getting some good snow out of this storm. We had about 2 inches in the east mountains when I left for work and it was still coming down pretty good. We'll have a blast!

Happy Holidays everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. Can't wait to see you guys again, got a year and a half left before Holly and I return from West Virgina. It was shortly after the Tree Run 4 years ago when I started coming to the meetings. Just thought I'd say Hi.

Steve

Yo Lurch, much 4wheelin' back there? Still got the 4Runner and the Cruiser? See ya when you get back.

Other Steve.

8 AM at 550 and 528. I would like to stick to the front ahead of the guys trenching with snow chains if at all possible! I need to get back to town around 5 PM though, so hopefully the day is not TOO long...

With 16 or so trucks, it is going to be a long day, especially if we are chopping trees, strapping them on, stopping and starting, taking pictures...you know.

I might cut out early then. I like it that way anyway, I know that there are people behind me if I have a problem. Just remember to stop if you see me on the side of the road with the hood up. :D

If we have enough radios, chainsaws and recovery gear, why couldn't we just have two separate groups that take different routes. That would be a little different than having one group that gets separated like last year.

I am now in. :). I hope I get better tomorrow. ;)

Big question is: faux-lux with 31" tires, IFS, and no chains, or try to hitch a ride? Might have to see if I can buy a cheap CB tomorrow too...

We've got plenty of CB's between all of us in the group....IIRC, Mike has like 20 of them in his garage.

:p

EDIT: See what I mean? :)

Dan,
I bring loaner CB's with mag mounts. Just be sure to ask at the meeting point.

Dan -

I think you'll be fine to drive. If you get stuck, we'll pull you out!

If you'd rather ride along, I've got room for you. Just stop by the house early on saturday. I will probably be pulling out about 6:30 to go get my bagel sandwich at Einstein's and pick up my brother-in-law along the way. He would probably call shotgun since he was first, but the backseat in the 80 should be comfortable enough - it's got a backseat heater!

Evan

P.S. If you want to ride with me, leave me a message at home (281-9676) so I know to expect you...

I also will also have a spare CB. Dan, I'll have a spare seat, hopefully with bun warmers. :D But, like Evan said, you will do fine. We didn't get that much snow.

i am sooo ready. tomorrow i will grease the drive shafts and lube the steering parts, start it to be sure the battery is good(yes, it's been that long), if there's time, i'll change the oil. then load it on the trailer!

Allright.

I'll bring the faux-lux then. Borrow a CB from Mike or Jon, and bring a few chainsaws and some spare diesel with me.

I will probably try to get some breakfast at the Frontier on my way to meet up.

Dan
