German destroyer Z2 Georg Thiele - Wikipedia

Most diesel has a few % biodiesel and that dissolves 30 years of crud, I think that got in your systems.
If you run a bit more salad-oil oil trough it will clean and replace a few fuel filters and it is done.
Or the fuel pickup at bottom is clogged?

this is just sunflower salad oil abuse but get the idea:

Oh, time flies!! Been touring and cruising thousands of kilometers this summer, with no troubles, just love this rig!!

Just put on Tough Dog foam cell Shocks a week ago and i must say i love them.
Ordered from TT Jason @reevesci and the difference threw me off.
I installed the ome Nitrocharger sports in 2014, was never very happy with them...
hard to put my finger on something specific, they were just not that smooth, not letting me go hard into corners and was a bit wavy offroad.
The Tough Dog is just oposite of that. More control in higher speed, predictable on and off road, and does actually soak up bumps/washboard ok. I'm still reminded this is a heavy leaf springed rig on every sharp bump, though!
Only thing i would do differently was order and install them earlyer.
The new TD steering dampner also made quite a difference, less travel on the wheel when bumping into s***, and less bumpsteer.
I was so sure the ome's were shot, as in not anymore doing its job, but when i took them off, they all definately had life in them, not shot.

I ordered them with smaller lower bushings, as i remembered incerrectly that the amazing ubolt flip plates from @lcwizard were of the early style (smaller) shock mount. They were not, and i had to swap in the old bushings from the ome's.
Jason, where do i get the different bushings? You?

Another thing... I have lost a bumpstop... and BENT the beeefy shock mount on the U Bolt flip plate! That is insane!
One should think that either the upper mount or the shock would be mangled instead...
So next upgrade will be proper bumpstops, any recommendations????

Also, maybe i should relocate the upper mounts, as the kit from @lcwizard moves the lower shock mount up an inch or so, maybe i should regain that length on top, so i dont have to put the bump stops so low to stop travel. Anyone done that?

looked at upgrading the winter tire setup, as i drive soo much during winter.
In came new 16x8 MT wheels and 285/75r 16 Hakkapellitta LT2, sold the 235/85 skinnies.
Also sold the 255/85 Km2's so next spring im gonna go for something else, maybe KO2.

Turned out real good, but maybe i should play with toe in, since they do wander a bit, pulling out.
I had some cupping wear on the rigt front KM2, wonder what that's about....?
They grip as if there's something magic going on!

I did not go to Lapland Trophy this year, sadly, but the reason can be seen on the pix above. Under the 61.
Filled in the old shop area, new drainage, lifting it another 50cm, poured in about 10x17m (32x55ft) of concrete, heated in stratigically places! solid enough for the 16t earth mover.
Expensive, but sooo worth it. Now all funds go towards rebuilding the wood and steel workshop that burnt with my previous 60.

Winter is here, snow is down, but i'm planning on getting the shop up during december and january. Will be soo nice to be able to work more from home, doing minor log houses and so on, AND having a nice place to work on our cruisers.

The lj73 got a new tie rod end, exhaust mount and patched some steel in under the doors to get it roadworthy again for the next two years.

This is close to what the shop will be like. Parking and storage on the left, loft for my ladies sewing above that, and mech/forge/woodshop on the right.
sett fra verandaen, nesten korrekt.jpg

Temp outdoor shop on the left. my house on the right. Steeled concrete (what we call the surface) during night.

A brigde in Åsarna built in 1852 makes my cruiser shrink!

P,

Bushings for the front or rear? or both? The HJ has the larger ID bushings for the front and rear. If you need larger bore bushings, maybe @lcwizard can suggest something.

The fronts are the same ID for the early or late 60/61/62 but the rears are smaller for the early (e to 10/85) and the larger (post 10/85) You got the larger for the rears.

Forging nails for a restauration project. This is the first one i'm really happy with, so i had to snap a photo!

Even though i hate the look of the Rigid light bar, it really does put out a nice light even in the evening fog. Saved me and the cruiser from a elk hit that night!

Been working on some strange projects this summer. Here, rebuilding a Salmon fishing (net) construction using traditional methods. Wavy and cool up there!

Yeah, i think they're all the same id now, since im using the ubold flip kit. Maybe he has sleeves, so i can use the bushings i have.

Insta photo from local camping grounds. Love it there, been since i was a kid.

And i usually sleep where i work if i can. So while rebuliding three log houses i was able to sleep comforably whenever.

Some of my work is in trasporting wierd stuff to wierd places. Like this heavy machinery equipment into the mountains.
And yes, it was heavy, just does not look that heavy under the midnight sun.

Some of the bogs really took a toll, both lockers doing their job ripping us trough!

I did have to replace a sticky solenoid this spring, luckily not in a sticky situation.
And i was smart enough to have a spare in the rig, too! Looking into moving the solenoid into the engine bay, or going to Albreight relays.

Had a lovely trip up north to see a friend, and drove some abandoned powerline tracks into the mountains.
The river crossings should have been taped, it's alwas fun.

Aaand picked up a lj70 for some low milage parts to the ladys lj73.
It has no engine, but lots of goodies. The clean body will replace a buddys rather worn body. (blue)

Bad ass man!! Can't wait to see how the shop comes out.

The Albright contactor is good, and so is the superwinch contactor. Definitely a big upgrade over the old school individual relays.

Soo looking forward to it, its been weird being without a shop to roam in.
Things get put on the "wait-until-shop-is-done-making-everything-easier-to-do-list" and amongst the many items on that list is the winch rewire. Need a well known solution that will work with 24v. Also, i cant buy an expensive relay. I try to find affordable yet quality stuff and order two of each, so i have a spare. Living where i do that is necessary, and saved my butt this time, since i had the standard solenoid around.

Now, i get to spend the waiting time to research what i should get. Do you have any favorites when it comes to bumpstops?

Great photos and stories. What does a set of BFG tires cost in your country?

Sorry for the late reply. a set of 4 averages at $1k plus shipping, and bfg is the more affordable of them all. the winter tires are about 11-1200 in this size.
