I’m using a lot of trickle down parts from the 60 on the 62. And since I’m staying stock on this one, it’s working out well.

These are the original wheels from my 60. I’ve had them in storage since 2019 when I did my used 70 series 16” wheels.

I cleaned them with soap and water, wheel cleaner, hit the rust with aluminum foil and soda, wiped them down with NevrDull wadding and then polished them with Quick-Glo Polish. The polish is a “coarse” what seems like 9 micron finish and I’ll buy the fine version to finish them out and seal them with a wax.

A lot of work, but it makes use of what I have laying around.

There are two steps past the “heavy” original.

I’d guess the original is -9 micron
Fine is -6 micron
Ultra is clearly stated at -3 micron

That should be able to take the scratches out of everything.

I’ll likely hit the rust pitting left on the wheels with phosphoric acid to neutralize it; and then paint it with some enamel silver or chrome paint.

Cold start injector cleaned more but it still doesn’t start instantly. That’s a later battle.

I need to go back down to the manifold gasket, desmog, adjust the valves and then baseline from there.

This looks all too familiar! And I’ve done all of those things too… mine takes a good 4-5 cranks cold and 8-10 when it’s hot… I’m stumped. I’ll be paying attention once you dive down that rabbit hole!

I bet it’s in the thermostat sensors or is a fuel pressure issue. But I’ll go over it all by the book.

I replaced all of those too!!

I already did the fuel pressure regulator and damper. I have no check engine lights.

My 3FE got a full refresh and the start quickness really can vary. Hot days it can take a little longer to start if its been sitting a while. If the fuel system is primed having recently driven though it starts pretty fast.

I know I just need to baseline it all from the start. I rushed when I did it the first time and I didn’t clean the intake as much as I should have.

My cold start injector has fuel pressure at the back side of the line but doesn’t spray with key on, or with spinning it over at this a temp range.

I’m thinking it’s either the ambient temp being too high (100+*) or it’s a wiring/ sensor fault

I need to read the manual.

I’m going to start off with the easy stuff.

Let’s see how the fuel pressure is acting and if it’s holding after I shut off. I’ll do a 0-100 1/8 npt mechanical gauge.

I had the same issue and changed everything, I finally wired my cold start injector up to a manual switch, starts right up. It’s been this way since 2015 with no issues
