Getting Sliders - Suggestions?

I'm definitely going with TrailGear. $140 plus $24 for the gusset kit and Note: 58" & 67" Rock Sliders are now made from seamless DOM material.

I would destoy those the first time out... If you are going for a look, do it! If you are actually going to wheel your 80, nut up and buy a quality product.

I like the look of Metal Tech's sliders and I think that I'm going to go with them, though I've heard that the front mudflaps cannot be used with them. Not sure if you can use front mudflaps with anyone's sliders though...

I trimmed the stock running board front cap to function as a mini mudflap.

You're right I never wheel my truck . I know you are friends with Mark and you like his products, so you're "encouraging" people toward his stuff (even though you didn't mention MT specifically). I like the MT stuff too, if you noticed I posted the MT sliders as my first choice if cost isn't a factor. But sorry, even though I know you wheel your truck hard, saying that you would destroy the TG ones the first time out is ridiculous. If you want to prove me wrong go for it.

But like I said, I know how the TG sliders are holding up for me and I'm sure they won't hold up to the same abuse at MT or Slee sliders but I could replace them three times for the same cost. But I'm sure that I won't even need to replace them once with how well they've held up.

4xinnovations...quality stuff, great price. I have lifted the entire truck with one slider without issue. Have held up well. Very happy with them and will continue to supporter. I think Adam is also working on a better t-case mount as we speak...

Thanks for posting those shots up, that is a good solution. I'll keep that in mind.

If the front mudflaps won't fit I could always work at attaching the "rubber" portion to the end cap somehow.

Or I could get a custom set of sliders that fits shorter to allow for the mudflaps ordered from BumpIt, it looks as though he is willing to do custom orders.

Mike is definitely willing to do custom orders, just tell him what you are looking for. He's a great guy to work with, good communication, honest, and he delivers on time.

Don't get me wrong, all the vendors offer good products, I have a MT bumper, but if you have access to a welder and a chop saw you can build some for a significant price cut. I spent around 100$ for mine, and I have cat guards. Mine are 1/4" walled and have taken every bit of abuse I have thrown at them and ask for me...just food for thought...

I am looking for budget bolt on sliders for light duty wheeling mostly to prevent damage from the GA red clay which is very hard and not forgiving, not anything like rock crawling but will keep the damage to a minimum. I was looking at the trail gear site but nothing there is bolt on. Anyone have any suggestions?

For the money and the quality Mike @ Bumpit Offroad I love my step sliders... They work great if you have wife/kids.

That is Rhino Lined... I don't have any pictures handy here at work but pretty simple "U" bolt to the frame with some cat protection.

I thought long and hard as well, and finally ordered slider steps from Mike @ BumpIt. The 3/16" wall tube, cat protection, and price are all perfect for me. Just one more to consider - you can't go wrong with any of the aforementioned vendors, though.

If I buy a set of sliders I too would go with the step sliders from bumpit. I will probably build though. Let us know what you go with.

I will add my vote for Bump It Offroad step sliders. My LX is going to be a family expedition/exploring vehicle so it was important my wife and kids can easily gain access. The cat protection is really tough. I added grip tape from Lowes on mine for traction.
I'm really impressed with Mike; very easy to deal with.

Hes on facebook@ binksfab. Definitely worth looking at... Theres pics under the 'boogers sliders thread' or something similar. His cat protection is REALLY well thought out and strong. Its 1/4" plate. Also, the outer tubing on his sliders is .250" because the 80s are so heavy and hes bent .154 wall on the prototype version wheelin pretty hard(for an 80) on rocks.

Check them out before u buy!
